Hi, Guys and Gals,
I wrote this work to preserve something. The Principle behind each is ingenious and can be used to create new works and ideas. Finally, finished the long awaited Almost Forgotten IfM 2 e Book. I wanted you know about the task set forth to restore a couple of these effects. The original Alphabet Test from the Labs collection was missing 3 of its cards and it took several hundred hours to restore this little gem to its working state. Preference was missing part of one of the cards. This is to say part of the card was missing and took forever to figure out what was to go where. Each effect contained an unusual mathematical principle and math was not my strong suite in college. The task was not easy to say the least. So today I am going to share 3 copies lets make it 5 copies this week f(or those of you who are recovering from St. Patty’s day) of this work to the first 5 people who email me at the .com. address. I would like to know what you think of these little gems that are so old they were almost forgotten. The work is 20 pages with and additional file with every thing you will need to perform each of the effect. So I will get the names of those with the quick draw and then send the five copies it will take a few moments to upload each. The best thing is that they will fit in an envelope and are great for those occasions when you get asked to due a little demonstration. The effects can be used one on one or in a parlor or lecture style setting. Be quick the last time I did this they were gone in 2 Minuets. Also, if you come up with a new idea please PM me with it. All of the effect contained in this work are very old many were created around the turn of the last century. Only one effect bore a name. The rest were sold at the time with no maker’s info or names. The work is 20 pages with and additional file with every thing you will need to perform each of the effect. The best thing is that they will fit in an envelope and are great for those occasions when you get asked to due a little demonstration. The effects can be used one on one or in a parlor or lecture style setting. Here is the forward to Almost Forgotten: Ideas for Mentalism Number 2. At Mentalist Creation Laboratory we are always looking deep into the past for the foundations of mental magic. It is through this research we discover some lost gems. These almost forgotten treasures you now hold have been reworked by us to bring them into the 21st century. When possible we will cite the name of the original effect’s creator, but many of their names have unfortunately been lost to magical history. Included with “Almost Forgotten: Ideas for Mentalism Number 2” is a supplementary PDF with printable files to assist you in making these effects for yourself. Included in this volume are the following effects: • The Mystic Eye original released as a packet effect by Mentalist Creation Laboratory • The Alphabet Test • Preference • Professor Andreens Marvelous Memory Stunt from 1913 • The Mystic 48 “It is better to share than not have your work read.” Also, any ideas for what you would like to see in IfM 3 let me know. Just had time to give it a quick glance so far, but I can tell you that sleep may come sparingly the next few nights as I tinker with these in my head. I love old principles like these.
Thanks again Mr. Bill, generous as always. JD |
