I read last night that Fess Parker passed away. I believe he was 84.

Man, great childhood memories!

I don't know if any one besides him could have pulled off Davey Crockett so well. I think he was made for that role.

I found out about this late last night...VERY sad.

In 1955 I just LIVED to see Fess as Davey fighting Indians and all...and never missed it when Disney re-ran that series.

Thing is, just earlier this week I found the YouTube clip of the final battle at the Alamo. Always really liked the way this was done and the ending.

A classy guy. I couldn't even begin to picture John Wayne as Davy, it was Fess all the way. Kind of like Connery with Bond. p.s. Where was Mingo educated ?
