Hank Lee used to sell a brand of rope that I think they called "elite rope" or something to that effect. It was very thick, and pure glistening white. Much better quality than the stuff you normally get at magic shops.

Anyway, I think he no longer stocks it.

Anybody here know who does? Any help appreciated.

Darn, I was just there yesterday and meant to ask the same question.
It came in yellow too. Great stuff.

I believe that Frank Starsini sells the elite rope, and Daryl sells a very similar pure white, thick rope too. The Elite is flat, and Daryl's is round.

Yep. And I actually saw the actual Hank. Amazin' isn't it?

They used to have a nice store downtown Boston but they moved to the warehouse in Medford (which is somewhere between Minnesota annd Egypt). Can't blame them, the rents are crazy downtown.

Crazy question, but I just gotta ask: Does he look anything like that little avatar of him?

Oh yes. He looks exactly like the cartoon version. It could be on his driver's license.

That's wild. I have always wondered about that. Google didn't reveal any information.

It's not widely known, but Hank Lee sold so much rope over the years they started calling a bundle of rope a "Hank of rope!" Smile

For the record:
All dealers who deal with Murphys magic, Showbiz services, carry elite rope or Eur0rope.
All of it is priced the same.
----------
Comparable rope is Dbaronian.com (must be bought in larger quantity), or Loftus rope (synthetic, but feels like the cotton stuff) available at rope.ws

So, ask any dealer.

Does anyone know where to get Cotton Braided rope that is 1 - 1.5 inches in diameter. Or something similar? Very thick hollow core (or removable core) climbing rope?

Serious question, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Metatron

Turns out there are substantially more dealers who specialize in magician's rope than I would have ever imagined!

Recently I started using cheap uday rope for scissor routines or when I give the ropes away. cuts well, and does not fray like crazy like the loftus rope.
