I know his pads. and they cost frickkin 135 dollars. that is 100 Euro. unfortunately I am just a student. and I am not earing 1000+ per month. I am pretty sure his pads are awsome, and yes, I'd love to have one of these but unless someone wants to make me a perfect gift, I am afraid those prices are too high. I think I will go with he vdf pad.

There are lots of ways for you to "cut corners" and get enough materials to practice and perform. Feel free to PM me if you need help. ![]() |

The Trevor Duffy pads are nice if you do any 'sliding coin' routines.

Can anyone describe what the surface of the VDF feels like? Is it spongy? Is it more like a scuba suit material, or more velvety? I need a bigger pad than I currently have and do a couple matrix routines that involve some sliding. I also don't want to hear a thud when loading.

Ponta is the manager at frenchdrop magic shop in Osaka Japan.
He's pretty busy now, but he'll most likely answer your message directly if you message him at frenchdroptube. A very nice guy! Very helpful as well. |

A sideline question about close up pads - will something like this work?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as......26991001 The price is right for a large size, but it obviously wasn't made with magic in mind. Just wondering if the 'mousepad' approach has merit or not. |

When I do use a pad,it is one (of two) I got from Patrick back when I met him in 2003.
One is a bright yellow one, and the other is a more formal crimson. They both still look great. One of the gifts I got for Christmas was a Singing Bowl. Can you say "Benson"? I knew you could... The next day I got out a pad to work out a coin, sponge ball and singing bowl routine. Oooooooooooooooooom

I only use one mat.... Another solid vote for Pattrick's mats! Check out the wonderful mat he made for me in the same page Doc mentioned. Mine was the black one with "The Boss" embroidered on. He made a black and a green version. I have been using it for years now...looks and feels the same.
