Has anyone picked up the ball on this? When last we talked about it, (SEAM 2008) either MS or SC was going to run with it.
Yes, I'm back.. new assistant... interesting things to come. |

So has the MS and SC rings vanished from the SEAM prospects?

As I recall, it was announced that MS was to host SEAM 2009... errr... 2010... umm... 2011?
SEAM 2008 was a blast. Ken Scott did a fantastic job organizing it! I'd highly recommend that whomever takes up the torch ask for his help. I do look forward to the next SEAM! |

Dodd, yup. I was there at the meeting and both SC and MS were going to decide which was going to host. It was decided that there would be no SEAM in 2009 due to the IBM convention in Nashville, but 2010 would be the next big year. So with two years to plan, you would think one of the clubs would have picked it up.
But from what I hear through the grapevine, the SC clubs are at war with each other (which is kinda silly, since it's JUST A CLUB) and I think the guys in MS have lost interest or the ones who were interested have moved on to other thing. So maybe one of the TN, LA, FL or NC clubs need to pick up the ball and run with it. |

It was in Atlanta in 2008 so I know that Ring 9 is waiting until another club hosts it before considering doing so again.

I think because the SAM is in Atlanta no one wants to have a covnention so close to that national convention. SEAM was a huge success in Atlanta. It was great team work. I would love to see SEAM catch back on and be a every year convention like it should be. My suggestion it should rotate out of three (maybe four) major cities every year. For it grow it has to be every year and be near the same time.
Thanks Dodd for nice comments. Ken |

This is not related, but I had a chance to watch Ken Scott perform on the PCAM cruise convention last year (2009) and Ken was also a great performer and lecturer!

It looks like Nashville will do a 'one day' SEAM in Sept, then in 2011 back to bama

Greetings,
This is Dorian from Ring98 in Mississippi. Although I would love to host it seems that 75 percent of the people that where coming on a regular basis have stopped coming for one reason or another including other interests. Of the ones that so show up (perhaps 5 or 6) none wanted to commit to such a venture. Please except my apologies for any false hope I may have given anyone when I raised my hand at the SEAM 2008 meeting. All the best, Dorian

*lol* OK - so I'm thinking of the proverbial cat and bag.....
We're working on it. We've already got a good lineup and most have confirmed. We're working to finalize venue arrangements. Lots to do and I'll keep you posted here.

Nashville sounds great, but I hope they will have something more than a one day convention. A one day only convnetion may detract a lot of folks from going. If you are more than a couple hours away, it may not seem worth the effort. However, whatever gets worked out, I am looking forward to SEAM again

Right now the planning is 1-day. It may evolve into 2 (1.5), but that is all we will be able to stage at this point. Making our 1-day into SEAM was a big step for us as it is.

Looking like 1.5. Give me another week and we should be ready for a full release.
