For those of you that have never been to the Casa de Souza for a lecture, let me make it clear--it the finest venue for lectures you will find. There’s not a bad seat in the house and he always the finest talent.
How I wish I could make it more often.

Ken is right. It is an honor to be a guest at Marc's house. He has a small theater, with airplane type seats, and Marc always has snacks availible in the finest magic library that I know of.
I also wish I could make it more often.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the nice comments. First, I will still continue to send out the e-mail notifications to my list and they get first shot at the seats. After a few weeks, I will post the lectures here. BTW, Joshua Jay just lectured at the house on Tuesday and commented that it was his favorite place to lecture. Not just because of the great conditions and the library and collection, but because of the people who attend. Marc |

I had the great pleasure and privilege of giving a lecture at Marc's about a decade ago. He was a most gracious and hospitable host, the attendees were polite and receptive, and the venue was a dream. Don't miss a chance to experience a lecture at Marc's!

Wow!! This sounds great. Is there a website for the theater? It's too far for me to attend but Id love to be able to see it and wish I could be there.

You guys are making me sorry I don't live up north. Closest thing to a magician around here is a voodoo priestess who lives in the swamp.

I also can attest to what a fantastic host Marc is. I lectured there about 4 years ago and everyone was absolutely incredible. I'll never forget the look on my wife's face when she bit in to a Philly Cheesesteak laden with that incredibly hot sauce that they have. Where was that? Geno's or the other place?
Oh, and Ursula says, "Hi Marc!" Best, Dorian Rhodell |

There are several popular steak shops around Philly that people frequent. At 9th and Passyunk there are the dualing steak shops of Pat's, and Gino's, on the U of Penn campus there is Abner's, on South Street there is Jim's, there is Delesadroe's in Roxborough, there is one at Busselton, and Cotman Ave (who's name escapes me), and on Oregon Ave. you have is Tony Lukes. Tony's, Gino's, and Pat's are visited often by the TLC channel. There are hundreds of steak shops in south east Pa. and the south Jersey area, but these are the most popular.

It's beginning to sound like an episode on the Food Channel from "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" with Guy Fieri.

Thanks Al, it was Pat's.
Marc took us to both for a comparison. I liked both places but the hot sauce at Pat's was something else. My wife bit into the Cheese steak and all I could do was laugh when I saw her face. All I remember is Marc and I cracking up and poor Ursula couldn't finish her sandwich as it was too spicy! In all, that was a fantastic trip. I hope to visit again. Hi Craig, I thought that's what life was about? Good food, good friends and card tricks! Best, Dorian Rhodell |

Dorian,
As I recall, I had to buy you and extra large Coke to try and put out the fire in your mouth too Yes, I've take a few on excursions to Pat's and Geno's for the steak taste test. They are right across the street from one another in the heart of South Philly. Despite the fact that I prefer Geno's, it's running neck and neck bewteen them by my count. BTW, Al, I used to loved Dalessandro's, but the last couple of times I ate there, I thought it really wasn't what it used to be. I don't really care for Jim's or Abner's. My current fave is Steve's Prince of Steaks on Roosevelt Blvd, near the old Nabisco plant. Tany Luke's is really good too, but it almost seems sacriligeous not to order the roast pork sandwhich there. Oh, there are a couple of places near us that make a really good cheesesteak too..Sal's in Gateway Shopping Center off of Rt. 202 and Tony and Joe's on Fayette St. in Conshohocken. Marc |
