The last time I did a lecture tour was in 2000. Plans are in the works for a new magic lecture tour in September on the East Coast and points between for magic clubs that are interested. My lecture is called "Palms of Putty: Magic for the Average Joe" and will contain both close-up and parlor/platform material. If you're interested in having me lecture to your club, contact me or John Luka.

New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine are all accessible for Scott on this tour.
There are a lot of clubs in these states and Scott ONLY has less than ten days of availability. Scott is well known and has an excellent lecture. I am sure the dates will be filled quickly. Ask your club's lecture coordinator to contact me as soon as possible to set up Scott's lecture in your city. John Luka |

LOL!
Gotta take it a piece of the country at a time there, Kirk. I can't be gone for months at a time like some of the guys who do nationwide tours. But I'd be happy to do a west coast tour, maybe spring of '11. Have your lecture coordinator contact John if you're interested.

Scott will be going on a short lecture tour from September 9th to September 27th. He will be touring basically Chicago and East. His tour will take him through parts of IL, IN, MN, MI, OH, PA, NJ, NY, and parts of New England. If your club is interested in hosting Scott's lecture, please contact me at: johnlukamagic@gmail.com
I have seen Scott's lecture. You will find it extremely entertaining as well as very informative. I am very confident that your club will enjoy this lecture a great deal. Palms of Putty Lecture “Magic for the Average Joe” Scott F. Guinn ("Great Scott!") is a full-time professional magician from Star, Idaho (near Boise). Scott has been entertaining and amazing audiences throughout the US and Canada since 1978. In addition, he performed regularly in Boise-area restaurants several nights per week for the better part of two decades, and he has had numerous television appearances. Scott has written 18 books on magic, which have received rave reviews from organizations, magazines, and individual magicians, both amateur and professional. He also has produced and starred in a top-rated instructional DVD for magicians. He is a featured columnist and contributor to The Magic Menu, the world's premier magazine for restaurant and hospitality magicians, and Visions, the online journal of magic, as well as The Magic Touch. He is also a former staff member and/or contributor to several trade magazines for magicians, including AM/PM, M-U-M, Smoke and Mirrors, and The Linking Ring. Magicians all over the world perform material created by Scott. Due to multiple hand injuries, Scott has had to create and adapt material to his physical limitations, while retaining its commercial appeal. The result is commercial, high-impact magic that the average magician can do (or at least attain with a modicum of effort). In this lecture, Scott teaches routines that virtually anyone can learn. And because he is a magic “General Practitioner”, he offers something for everyone. This is magic you can and WILL use! INCLUDED IN THIS LECTURE: “Sucker Trick” - Using just a dime and a small lollipop, you perform a series of impossible coin vanishes, appearances and penetrations, leaving an audience member with a permanently altered magical souvenir! “Peanut, Butter, & Jelly” - Scott’s highly acclaimed and world-renowned sponge ball routine. Combining a charming and funny presentation with tight yet flowing construction, this routine resets instantly. Scott’s most-performed and most-requested routine. Scott will spend part of the time talking about restaurant magic: getting the gig, approaching tables, sets, types of effects, etc. He will also be teaching about ten to eleven of his routines, including several for table-hopping, as well as some for parlor/platform shows, and kids' shows. If you perform for real people in the real world, or hope to in the future, you will find valuable information and material you will USE. Scott and I would appreciate it if you would let your club's lecture coordinator know that Scott will be on a short lecture tour in September.
Although September seems to be a long time away, it is not. Many clubs will have there final meetings for the season in June before resuming again in September. Ask you club's lecture coordinator to contact me regarding Scott's lecture at johnlukamagic@gmail.com if your club has any interest in hosting the lecture. Scott's material is very good and plays very strong. Most importantly, his material is not difficult which puts it within the ability of most magicians. Scott's lecture is also diverse. Scott includes close-up, stand-up, and mentalism. This is something that most lecturers do not do. I look forward to hearing from you. |

So,...there's a reason for not lecturing closer to home? Like in the PNW? (grin)

He may be thinking about it or perhaps he didn't receive the email. A reminder from you would certainly be appreciated by both Scott and me. BTW I have contacted many clubs in Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. I have contacted many more clubs in the states I have already indicated in a previous post. If anyone is interested in seeing Scott's lecture, please contact your lecture coordinator. Chances are he has already received my email and has all the details on Scott's lecture. John Luka |
