I just wanted to let you all know that I've been asked to
do a lecture based on the theme of China and have been granted the opportunity to talk about one of China's Magic Gems... My father. Along with my personal experiences growing up in a bi-cultural family. This is for the general public, not meant just for magicians. More later.

I was asked to do a lecture/presentation a couple months back
about my father. It is a private presentation not for magicians, but I've been told I can invite up to 10 people from the public to attend. If you are interested in attending, please call me (815-354-2730) or email me (notyoursinger@mai-ling.net) at this address and I will give you information of location. The presentation will be on Sunday, June 20th @ 7pm in Vernon Hills, IL. (Yes, it is Father's Day). I will be talking about his life from his early childhood to his contribution to the art and history of magic, along with showing rare photos and videos. I promise it to be fun and interesting. He will also be there. Since this is mainly a presentation on history for the general public, I will not be talking about any mechanics or 'secrets' of illusions he has built over the past 60 years and the improvements he has made. This is an informative view on an entertainer who has traveled throughout the world with his solo and family act, and those he have helped throughout the years. The friendships he a made and built, as well. Invitation is first come first served, so please let me know ASAP.

Please forgive my ignorance. Who is your father?

Her father is De Yip Loo, also known as Looie, who was the inventor of the light bulbs through the girl. He also was an assistant to several prominent illusionists, not the least of which was Harry Blackstone. Looie had a very successful illusion show of his own for many years.
