I thought this was an April Fool's joke. How many wold feel dumb ordering/using this?
OK,I know Derek Dingle used two pieces of would to practice the pass. A normal deck will fell like a sponge after training. It makes doing the pass or other card sleight of hand easier. Includes: 8 steel slabs Training: Practice the pass or another card sleight of hand you like with the steel deck. Be careful not to hurt yourself or other people. Every time you train, just keep practicing for 15 to 30 minutes and then rest, not too long. Take a normal deck and it will feel like a 'sponge' deck, so light and so handleable. Other Thoughts: It doesn't only train your hands but also can be used for magic routines such as Ambitious Card. I used to ask the spectator to sign on the steel face, and then perform Ambitious Card by doing pass, even double lift.

Ha! Who says you can't geek on magic and pump iron at the same time?
Actually, I think this is pretty clever. It also might be good for learning fancy cuts and flourishes.

I can understand what you mean with April Fools jokes. Maxwell is having a bit of fun over there. He had the pretty girl delivery option. Now on foreign shipping,he has an option where he will personally deliver the package for $2000.04. Lucky I pressed the right button on my order. It's good to see someone having a bit of fun. These blocks are not part of the frivolity though. It's a bit like putting weights on coins to practice the muscle pass, which some magicians do. |

Actually these are a pretty good thing. I don't work with cards much but when I work with these for a while and a deck of cards feel like air in your hands. A friend of mine who is a professional card magician has used them for a while and really loved it. It isn’t a joke and can help those that are serious about their practice.
Now since they are heavy, shipping costs may be a bit high. |

Thanks everyone for the posts. I really thought it was a joke, but ti makes sense. Like when batters use the heavy rings and then after they remove them, the bat is lighter.

Building up the muscles in your hand is somewhat counter productive for a sleight that doesn't require additional hand strength, like (for example) a Pinky Count.
It may even be detrimental, in that developing muscles in the hand that don't need development could potentially make the tyro unintentionally clumsy. The Pass, like most advanced sleights requires two things...... micro-muscle control, and advanced muscle-memory. It's not a "strength" move. I would postulate that the research that has gone into investigating the physical development of the muscles in the hand by using this steel deck as those muscles relate to the skills needed to actually become proficient at The Pass........well, I would guess that investigative research is pretty much zero. |

But someone in Penguin put a review and said these slabs gave him cuts. Are these really that sharp? I wish I could train my fingers to be stronger so I can do DL without hesitation.

I hope that makes sense!

I practice my pressure fan and card springs with these... They seem infinitely easier when I switch back to a normal deck. These are nothing short of an absolute necessity for the working pro.
