Pablo,
Andrew linked to this video on Feb 5th in his infamous "Cups and Ball Month" thread: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......=115&203 If you haven't seen all the performances that Andrew itemized in that thread, then you have some other real treats in store for you! |

Thank you Donnie, I thought I watched all of Andrews' videos, but now I realized I did not, so I'll check all of them again... I can not miss something like this ...

Thanks for all the comments everyone! Lol, I haven't told Donnie this yet, but I'm in the process of trying to destroy the cups as much as possible, lol. I just want to make sure they can withstand the harshest of lives!
And they're coming through wonderfully! I've left them outside, ground them together, dropped them, and they still look wonderful! We'll just be putting them through the ringer a little longer and then we'll some more info. Fun! ~ jamie

LOL, those cups are spun from .064 heavy gauge copper. They are built like tanks.
Jamie, if you drop one, don't drop it on your foot! |

Any mention of cost yet?
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!
After doing some performances, we're now looking into an idea... So this might be a little while longer. That said, I'm happy that we're going through actual road-testing before releasing them! Fun! jamie

These look annoyingly tempting. Might be good for John Bannon's routine, which is done with beadless cups, as well. It's in Impossibilia, I think.
How big a ball do these take, and you know, with the proper engraving / embossing / stamping / whatever, I'm guessing these could look really, really small compared to the final loads.

Thanks, Jake, but I should have been more specific--what size small ball do these cups take? 1"? 7/8"?

Since the cups do not stack, you can use any size ball you wish.

I discussed a design with the new RNT2 months ago and I cannot tell if all my requirements are here or not. Do the cups nest together where the mouth beads all touch? If so, then this is the design I asked about many months ago.
If not, then, well, it's not. What do these looks like when they are all nested/stacked together?

I think it's clear from this post that the cups will stack, they just aren't made to stack:

I should imagine that you would use balls that you are comfortable performing with rather than the maximum size you'd be able to get in the cups.
As you rgihtly said, I think the key words are "at the beginning" because you wouldn't want to be stacking them mid routine with balls between them. They lack the shoulder beads to aid in the deception. At a guess (as I have not played with them) I would say that 3 x 1 1/8" balls would fit flush in the bottom of the cup so anything therabouts or smaller should be okay. Maybe someone who actually owns a set will tell us otherwise and make me look foolish though! Bri |

The cups will NOT stack straight with any consistency. When they are placed one upon the other, there is about 1 1/4" or a little more of the skirt and mouth bead sticking out. They will not slide over one another all the way down to the mouth bead, though. You could probably use 1 inch balls or even larger with these if you were going to do a multiple ball routine.
