Steven Steele. It moved me deeply the time I had lost an effect due to unfortunate circumstances, and he out of the kindness of his heart sent me a new one. To this day, I will always remember that kindness.
Well, I have to also mention Review King. He very kindly shared some effects with me that I had no way of affording at that time... Guys like this lead me to to follow their beautiful examples. They make the Café a place worth coming to, in spite of common negativity.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

I would like to thank myself for coming to the Café. Without me, I wouldn't be here.

Mick Ayres, who showed me both the gate and the path to performing magic in public and graciously led me through and started me on my way.

If I were to be serious for a moment, I would say that I am most thankful for the posts of Magnus Eisengrim. While we are ostensibly here at the Café for magic, Magnus posts in a gentle, thoughtful, and helpful way that goes beyond magic. Here at the "not very magical" forum, we cuss and scream and blame each other for being idiots. Magnus doesn't. He always remains a gentleman.

There are many I would thank for their insightful, knowledgeable posts, but most of all I'd like to thank Dick Oslund. Every time he posts either I learn something or I'm simply entertained by his stories of the past. He's a real treasure.

While there are many, many here in the Café I appreciate. If I have to thank just one I'd choose Gallagher.
If you have seen his posts, most of which are in the Sidewalk Shuffle forum. He's always optimistic, helpful, and kind. And his posts are so lyrical, almost like poetry.

Most of the good ones are gone. I've found that many who are good helpers are also very outspoken.
But Tony Eye is still here.. Gotta love that guy!!!

For me, I love to laugh.
Therefore, my vote must go to Weepinwil. I'm 'dying' to meet that guy ! Probably never will. But I could imagine us having a STIFF drink together if we ever did meet ! Rock on Will ! Bobby Thomson. |

I pm'd to innermind telling him that while I'm sure it wasn't his intention, his picture had incredibly offensive imagery. I asked him to delete it. He said he saw my point, and tried to delete it but it was too late to edit. I then told him he could report his post to the mods and ask for a deletion. For what ever reason it was not deleted. I then, for only the second time in all the years I've been here, reported the post myself for deletion. It still remains here.

I care, but I didn't find the image offensive in the least. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
Suggesting a "group hug" was funny and appropriate. Now, if we cross-reference this thread to another thread the image becomes powerfully strange. But it is the cross reference in our minds and not the image itself that offends. So why should the post be deleted? Maybe it should stay precisely to remind us of the incredible power of context and cross referencing. |

What the heck's wrong with this world that everything offends someone ?
Get a life ! I live in England, and am sick to the back teeth of the dourness of this non-stop nation of complainers. Thanks David for a lovely picture. |
