Hello everybody,
Just a short curious, maybe even a stupid question : How many of you take their wedding or other kind of finger rings off to present magic with coins, just to prevent unexpeted clinking sounds ? Personally I don't. The only problem I have is, that I can't do anymore a correct coin roll down keeping my wedding ring on the finger. Oliver. |

Yes Ollie, an old question around here. Some take the ring off others don't. To each his own but I feel that the promise that the ring represents is moreso in you than the ring itself...Just my view and I've worn one for some while now.
I've actually incorporated using my ring in my effects like in my Goldfinger PLUS. Or now in a new coin effect I call The Golden Jurney where I actually address this issue by purposely inviting the "clink" and using it to my advantage in the effect and toward some really strong magic that actually involves the ring further later on. So you can let the ring make you stumble or let it help you to be so much more. Sometimes a simple paradigm shift (and "shift" is the key word) solves much during the brief moments of magic. With that, simply move]shift your ring to your pinky and you'll see that you can coin roll very well and the ring is still on your hand. A truly effective compromise.

I too wear a ring and have had to practice extra hard to ensure that when I do a move that I don't clink. As Marion stated it is really a matter of preference.

Hehehe... I remember asking this a while back too. Personally, I just work around it. Haven't really found a solution yet.

My ring stays on all the time. I'm afraid I might loss it if I take it off, if that would happen I would be in big trouble, I would rather have a coin clink off my ring, then having to telling my wife I lost my wedding band......lol
Seriously, I just learned to work around it. But, in the end it's all about what your comfortable with. Good Luck. Tim
