Do you use it? If so, do you do it as a stand alone like on the video or in combination with something else.
I do it in my financial seminars when I explain compound interest. I borrow a dollar from one of my students then I show how compound interest works for us. At the end, I talk about how taxes and debt affects us. I take everything but the original dollar and hand the original dollar back to the spectator and pocket the rest. Great way to prove a point. I have been using this fold to do a paper money Miser’s Dream. I also use it for the production of two fans of bills as a finale. It is paired with a coin production Miser’s Dream.
The routine starts with the production of about 7 coins, which ends with the production of a fan of about 10 bills (paperclip holder) that are allowed to drop singly from the hand. Then a series of single bills are produced (7) and are dropped as the next bill is produced. Finally, two fans of 8 bills are produced (one in each hand). That’s it! My use of the Osaka bills. I have also used it as a stand alone Miser’s Dream (no coins).

My nearly normal memory recalls something like this in Tarbell.
Can anyone say if this is true or not? Harris

Harry that is a great one routine. I never thought about using it with a Miser Dream.
I actually thought about producing bills from both hands but I might want to use fake bills as using real ones might create a massive run onto the stage. Thanks for posting. Harris I don't really know if this is in Tarbell. |

Harris, your memory does not fail you. There is a Dollar Bill Miser’s Dream in Tarbell, volume 6, page 116, titled “Bob Ellis’ Miser’s Dream with Dollar Bills”.
Ellis’ version is with a different fold and different manner for stacking the bills (interlocking them) than the Osaka methodology. The Ellis routine is good and is the model of my little routine. Ellis uses two Bobby pin droppers hidden behind the lapel of a coat. I use two homemade paperclip things under the edge of my coat or tacked to the edge of my table. I also end up with two instant fans of bills a la’ Osaka method. Gman, any good stage money works well. I use real bills (it is less than $20.00!). I have even used 100 peso notes from Mexico. Colored paper rectangles (dollar size) work too. You can produce a rainbow of colors that you have taken from your coloring book (play it in reverse).

George,
I really like it. I also use it when I'm about to give my money to a cashier inside of any store. It means a lot to me. I wish special bills were made that would last longer, making it easier to perform. |

Hello everybody, my whole act is built right on the very visible effect of Gallos Osaka Bills. It is only a quarter of my act, but it is the fourth quarter - one of the two most important parts in magic act.
I`m using false notes - a little bit changed copies of czech money, because I use this "Osaka idea" as much as I think, that it`s possible and I appear a lot of bills in value of $1500.00 - but there is no real money - but audience trust, that there is! If you want, I`ll be very pleased, if you take a look around Jahn Gallos webpage, where you can find a video of the part of my act, where I perform Gallos Osaka bills. I hope, you`ll enjoy it. http://www.lurup.com/~persson/k/galloframe.html |

I wonder why this bill production is so little known. One of the first thing anybody would do if he could do magic would be to "make money" by magic. Instead, magicians prefer to produce cards this way. Why would anybody want to have dozens of playing cards just to leave them scattered on the floor??? Crazy magicians!
Anyway, my way of presenting this would be like this: First I would do the Six Bill Repeat to demonstrate how magicians keep money although they spend it. Then I would do the "Blanks to Bills" for those cases where the first method would be too time-consuming. Finally I would pluck bills out of the air as a climax. Just my 2 cents ... |

Andy,
Excellent production routine! And the comment about the amount of money you produced was right on as well - that's a LOT of bills you produce. It's great to see someone so young who has so obviously put so much work into his routine and presentation. Currently, I'm working up a production routine for a travel company - giving away free trip passes that are the size of bills. Are there any good references for this routine? The Tarbell handling just isn't quite what I need and the Osaka routine just might "fill the bill," (pun intened). Kind regards, Lee Darrow, C.Ht.
