Hey Folks,
First off I'd just like to say a thank you to all of you who make this forum happen. Although I am certainly a newbie to this field, I have been trolling here some time time, reading reviews, picking up on the pros and cons of various techniques and generally having a great time. I've recently suffered a nasty car wreck and sharrered both my left wrist and right ankle in the process, and am using my down time to learn more about my hobby..magic. Please bare with me through what I am guessing will be some pretty silly questions. Once I get a foothold I'll do my best to find a way to contribute. AGAIN thanks and I look forward to interacting with yall. JORDAN P.S have just read the rules on the avatar...just changed it (I think) but the old one is here for now. SORRY!! |

Welcome Jordan,
Best of luck in your recovery. Sounds like a good time to start the one handed cuts and shuffles. When you can work with your left wrist magic is great therapy. Enjoy the forums! - Mary Mowder |

G'day Jordan
Learning and reflecting on magic while you recover should be a good combination. Welcome to the Café. Bob Latta (aka Troppo Bob) |

Welcome to Café. I broke two fingers on right hand a few years back. Magic can be good for getting dexterity back once healed. Best therapy for me was hand washing dishes. The hot water, the low stress moving of the hands...worked wonders for me once I got cast off. Added bonus, it made my wife very happy.

Greetings,
Build dexterity. I had idle time. I manipulated coin and card. Also you can spend time reading. Background from the Magicians of time is not only insperational it is a path to insight to how you want to perform the art of magic. Leinad

Welcome! Hang in there. Last yesr I broke the 5th metatarsal in my right hand. The tendons in my hand are still kind of tight and my right pinky is a little shorter than it used to be. The upside is it's easier to do a one-handed top palm. The whole ordeal just made me want to become better than before. It's working too. Just think of how your PT's will react when you do some magic for them. If you ever feel discouraged open your copy of "The Vernon Chronicles, The Lost Inner Secrets. Volume I" to page XV. You do have that book don't you? Thought so. God Bless and good luck!

Magic is great for rehab. Some hospitals use magic programs to help with recovery. By the way, there are no silly questions when your first starting out. If you ever have any of those not-so-silly questions, just pm me.
