I guess that story was pleasant enough. But unfortunately the column to the right lists dozens of stories guaranteed to ruin one's breakfast. If a nation can be judged by its 911 calls, America is a stupid, barbaric society that should be banned from competing in the Olympics.
Consider the woman who found her decapitated son and tells the dispatcher, "I know it sounds really weird..." after saying that her son's head "is missing". Or consider the man calling 911 while you can hear a woman screaming "DIE! DIE! DIE!" as she stabs her baby repeatedly. Right. A woman is stabbing her baby...I think I'll call 911. If I try to intervene, I might get hurt. Of course, further research reveals that he already thought the baby was dead. But the child wasn't dead. In fact, the child didn't die after being stabbed repeated by the mother. Apparently the woman was too deranged, too stupid, too incompetent to kill a baby. Then there's guy who got bit by a deer and a dog, and the dispatcher who asks the woman whether she wants the police to come over to shoot her daughter, and the woman who called 911 with the hope of getting the name of a policeman who had just been at her house because she thought he was really cute and was hoping to get a date with him. I'll stop there. This stuff is like poisoned beer. |

Wow. With a nation of over 309 million and to be judged by dozens of 911 calls.
I guess if we judged by the few then some countrys would be banned from existing. I'll leave it you to figure out which ones.
I am getting so tired of slitting the throats of people who say that I am a violent psychopath.

I bet we'd start with Denmark. But then, they get away with it because no one can understand their 911 calls. Who speaks Danish outside of Denmark? It's a kind of conspiracy.

If someone judges a nation by a few 911 calls..who is in need of attention? The nation, or the one doing the judging.
Better yet if a nation can be judged by its past history...awww never mind this can really get out of hand.
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000

Back on topic: dogs are amazing. I love animal stories myself, especially dog ones being a huge dog lover.
As far as judging nations on 911 calls...stupid calls make us look stupid, true, but that's why we have the clever dogs who can help save us when we need it =]. LASSIE!

I'm beginning to think my sense of humor is misunderstood.
Is this microphone on? Take my dog... ...please. You know why they don't eat Danishes in Denmark? wait... wait... wait... Because they gave up cannibalism in the 1980s. Hey folks, I'm here all week! |

The dog is better trained than many of the rescuers here in Vegas.
A woman was driving with her boyfriend in the car. Her boyfriend is epileptic, and happened to be having a major seizure in the car. She was worried, but fortunately (or so she thought), there was a fire station just a block down. She pulled the car up by it, went up and buzzed the door. There was no response, so she used the emergency phone that's available, and again, no response! Finally, in desperation, she uses her own phone to call 911, giving the address of the fire dept at which she's standing! Less than 30 seconds later, the door opens up and the ambulance roars out of the fire station, goes right past this poor woman who is frantically waving her arms, and goes right on down the street. The ambulance makes it about 2 blocks, at which point the driver apparently realized that he just left the address of the emergency, and turns around! Finally, they see the frantic woman, who first gets them to help her boyfriend, and then proceeds to give them a tongue-lashing in 2 different languages! |
