I'm after an electrical switch that can be operated secretly by your toes from inside your shoe. I can find various things in the local electronics shop that will probably work but they don't look very robust. I imagine some kind of miniature pad switch - is there a name for what I am looking for?

You can get pad switches used by paintball enthusiasts that mount very well in a shoe.

Tactile switch works but I know there are better and thinner ones than these.

Try the MSC Industrial Supply catalog. Hundreds of switches are listed, including miniature toggle and rocker switches.

Use a micro switch. It is easily found in an electronic shop.
