Hey,
I wanted to chime in that a track pad works fine for this effect, though the trackball is more ideal. It's simply a matter of audience management but it works exactly the same. Mike, I totally understand where you're coming from. Nobody likes to be ripped off or given misleading information about a routine, then find out it isn't what they bargained for. With Curveball I really don't think that's a concern, what you see is what you get. The ad copy reads true to the letter and very little editing was done, several seconds were taken out. Given the nature of online videos and trailers, they tend to be used as promotional tools. If what you're purchasing isn't a gimmick or prop, but an idea, then showing a video of the entire performance from start to finish without the benefits of misdirection (as the spectator would see it in real life) amounts to an explanation video since people can rewind and watch over and over. Thanks, Oz PS. Alvo, glad you liked it! |

Almost forgot, unfortunately this does not work with an iPhone. I tried to figure out a way but the touchscreen is too much of a hassle. Some people might figure out a way, but it seemed awkward to me. Plus I tend to find plenty of people with acceptable Blackberrys and flip phones at my shows.

Too bad about the iPhone, but thank you for your honest answer, Oz. All the best with this one! Unfortunately, all of my friends use Macs and have iPhones, but I may still download this for the odd "impromptu" times that I have access to a Blackberry or similar phone . . .
It would really be quite tragic

Very intresting. However, how about Droids or other full touch screen phones? The Droid Incredible and new Iphone are coming out so I know a lot of my community will be getting these.

This is an interesting effect. On one hand, it does have the potential to be an awesome effect. On the second hand, it limits you to certain phones of which you may not know if you can use until you have your hands on it. Touch phones are out of the question although I own an iphone and can perform a version that's practically the same. This means if you do not own one of the phones that can be used, you'll not get the chance to practise it and there's no way I'm trying an effect out without having the opportunity to practice it. The idea's behind it and the subtleties are actually very clever and there's clearly a lot of very strong thought in it. An interesting idea, just a shame that touch phones are out when in the UK I know more people with the iPhone then a Blackberry.
