CMHC I see
Hi Alan, good to see you again old friend. I don't have any need for those kind of rubber band I'm happy with your stars, but perhaps Skip would like to buy magic related rubber bands in less than 500,000 lots.

I do CMHC all the time with the silly bands. keep in mind they are silicone not RUBBER they do not have the same stretch factor as rubber bands but esasily can do the CMHC.
as for shapes form stargazer Pips would be cool can you make magic wands or top hats or what about the duck rabbit shape. just a thought. sam

Thanks for this thread. I started seeing them at my restaurants this week and did the CMHC. Really blows their mind. Of course, that goes for most tricks done with borrowed items, but still. Thanks for making me aware of these "Silly Bandz".

Ok everyone question for you.
I am making a set of magic bandz and wanted to get a feel for what you want or would like to see,. so what shapes or words d you h ave in mind. I put a list together and my design team is working on the looks of them now but need some more ideas. before we can make the molds I need the finished artwork so hoping to get some ideas to play with. I also wanted to know if I would offer them to you "magicians" at a discounted rate if you bought a larger quantity - what do you think is a good number to get a discount price 25 packs 50 packs 100 packs what are your thoughts. I sincerly hope to have them by the end of june! looking forward to your input thanks sam

Sam
I think that it would be best if you PMed Alan Wong, and told him what bands you would like him to make for you, because I don't think that he comes to this forum very often. He has been a member here for 7 years, and only made 46 posts.

These Americans sure are something. I thought that they were only availible through China, and now I find out that we have a rubber band manufacturer right here in Montgomery county Pa. GREAT NEWS I'm sorry for ever doubting you.

Sam, I would look at the 100 packs personally. Just brainstorming here - I think a top hat is a must. Since there is already a rabbit in the animal pack, maybe a rabbit in a hat? Magician in top hat & cape? A wand with a star on the end? Wizard? All four card pips?

I'm looking at it more from a promotional marketing angle, Santa. The kids I've met are serious about trading and collecting these things. When I ask which is their favorite, they can pull that one special band out of a stack of fifty in an eye blink. Offering shapes that they can't get any where else, shapes that might just become their new show off favorite, can't help but increase traffic at my restaurants and other appearances. Offering a new original shape each week may keep them coming back.
I figure that this fad has, at best, another couple of months before it begins to fade out here in the East or is overtaken by something else. Gotta ride that wave.

I'll take your word for it, Sam! I just keep having this recurring Pog nightmare. Back when I met my wife, she talked me into buying a $200 Pog proof sheet (Remember Pogs and Slammers?) because it would be worth something some day "just like baseball cards!" Since I was trying hard to keep her happy back then, I shelled out the cash and let her pick her sheet - which now sits in the bottom of one of my magic drawers worth about as much as an EZ plastic ball vase.

Hey Sam,
My son Eric is crazy about these things. I'm going broke. Let me know what the shapes are and the cost. I'll definitely take some, Marc |

Strangely enough I have noticed that my CMH/Stargazer routine goes over just as good as it did before this fad began, because I'm the only one with the yellow star shaped rubber bands.

I guess I should look at kids more often... if you can mix up the rubber you can make shapes using cookie cutters into corn starch as the mold.
