Will be great to meet who ever shows up! ;-)
For my part: There will be a teach-in of my exclusive XMOSIS Effect. Never before seen! Once you know, you can make your own! With the help of Clifford Ball and a full set up, I'll be demonstrating the Chemistry of the Grind Show as I envisioned it and why it works so well. (Have your Dollar ready for C lifford.) I'll have a couple of Dark Museum Prediction sets, a few Shrunken Heads and some books (signed) for sale at DEEP Discounted Show Specials. 1st come 1st served on the props sets!! of course there will be much more to see and do, special guests and great food thanks to the one and only Kay Tracy! See ya!!!

Man, I wish I could be there!
You totally reak of awesomeness Doug!!! Just seeing the Grindshow presentation would be worth the whole weekend! For those going, it definitely sounds like one heck of treat just to see Doug let alone all the other talented folks who will be there. Tony

I'm not able to attend the whole weekend this year but Kay let me pop into the BBQ at her mom's house last night and say "Hi" to folks. It was great fun! Got to see Kardor again and Clifford the Red, Balaram, Dennfox, and more!
I got meet and shake hands with Doug Higley. We debated about which was better Muppets from Space or Muppet's Treasure Island ( I like any man I can debate that with ) And, we got to hear stories of his time in San Francisco in the late 60's hanging out with folks like Anton Lavey. It was awesome! I'm sad I can't come back for the rest of the weekend but I'll be there next year for sure! Have fun guys! C

You mean Doug Higley is a real person......wow that's going to change my whole outlook on life. I always wondered where my shrunken heads, monkeys pawa, ears fingers etc came from after I ordered them. I never thought it was a real person!! I had better take apart my Higley mini temple and shrine now.

Doug is real and a very giving and generous person but you didn't hear that from me since Doug has a reputation to maintain.

Had two great days at the Odd Gathering! I'm unable to attend Sunday but even with two days --it's a bargain at a very affordable price. Thank you Kay and Tory for making this happen. I look forward to next year.

I spent two glorious days at the Odd Gathering. Thank you Kay and Tory for all the time and money you put into this gala. The greatest bargain in the world. It was fun playing with everyone including meeting the Great Doug Higley and Mrs Higley. Robin Dewitt was there but alas No Kardor. However Robin has the greatest Vent act I have ever seen so Kardor wasn't missed as much! Tor and Krista were a trip!! Along with Violett, Clifford, Scott, Bill (Hoppy--poor Hoppy), Ross(Evil electrical genius), among others. Can not wait until next year's gathering! More of you need to be there.

Was a nice group of folks. Next year will have a NEW Act...not just hang around and get praised and feel dopey for it. Was great meeting everybody...really was!
Kay is truly a force of nature. Made it work!

Doug is a class act, a force of nature on his own--the Immovable Object I would name it--pretty much as you might imagine, no pretense, no BS, just the straight skinny. He answered ALL questions, nothing held back, and after his main presentations, continued to drop generous pearls of wisdom to all questioneers--did I say "pearls"? Nay, GEMS they were! We especially were facinated by his stories of younger days,(LaVey-?) and his sideshow experiences. The guy is also an expert in old horror movies, no surprise there really.
And Mrs. Higley--one of the greatest audience members one could ever hope for, a very sweet lady. I am sorry Clifford the Red tricked her out of her soul, but hey that's Odd Gathering. Not trying to be too sucky here, Doug don't like that--but it was a long trip for you two, I just wanted to add a public thank-you again, Odd Gathering was of HUGE benefit for me this year, and you get a hunk of the credit. Thanks Oddbrother! |

Bill, I wish I had more to offer. Thank you for the kind words and your tolerance.
You are 100% correct about Lori though.

Glad you all had a good time, special shout and thanks to Ross for the electronic make and take project kits.....and they all worked wo hooo!
Thanks again for your support and participation, the idea is that we all get to make it work, I just facilitate (okay, so maybe I am a leetle bit of a control freak, but hey!) There is rumor of a return of Doug for next year, and maybe even a workshop to make your own toes or fingers (good to be ready for those power tool incidents) I fully expect Christian to earn his,, wait, wrong forum, um, be there next year...for the whole weekend, and just so those who might jin us next year, the plastic magician item to work with is.... a magic wand-one of the plastic varieties preferred form the beginner magic kits, but nto required, please keep your development notebook for the roundtable after the performances. I would tell you what the Iron magician item would be, but that would take all the fun out of it. Last year was a bottle of water, and this year was an empty cigar box. We had some fine entries for an on the fly performance contest using the items! hmmmm. next year I think I will use a z.3#pZzzzz.
