If Annemann was alive...
he'd probably be pleased with the new James Bond movie in production. The character Oscar winner Halle Berry plays is called Jinx Smile

Yes, but will she be doing any mentalism effects?

My ever-so-alternative brother named his baby daughter Jinx last Saturday, then found out about the new Bond movie and is furious that people will think that's where he got the idea...

If Theodore was alive he'd move to Beautiful British Columbia, Canada. After all, he was a "tea-head" was he not?

B.C. makes the best tea....

Give us a break, we probably showed you how to make the *** stuff.Smile

But I'll grant you it will be better than U.S.tea. Ever since the leaves got soggy in Boston you can never get a decent cuppa in the U.S.

I won't comment on Sniper's "tea" either. But, Paul, if you want a really fine cup in the US, check out Harney & Sons. I believe the web site is just http://www.harney.com.

Although it's a complete non-mentalism tangent, I just discovered some great (albeit ridiculously expensive) US tea: http://www.mightyleaf.com

I'm also partial to http://www.tealuxe.com -- some of the best (and ever-so-slightly more reasonably priced) Moroccan Mint tea I've had. Mmmmmmmm....

{we now return you to your regularly scheduled mentalism conversation}

Ah Andy!
I've only ever had one decent cup of tea in the US. Great to know that at least someone there appreciates a good cuppa!
Let's find a decent tea cafe at the Phoenix Gathering.

Sounds like a plan, Quentin (of course that may be more of a challenge; the only ones I've found is Tealuxe [which I mentioned in the last post], which is just located here in the Boston area). I'm most definitely looking forward to the gathering--David's been trying to get me to come out for that ever since the first one, and I've always been busy. This summer I'm making sure to schedule around it. Now to just find the cash to pay for it... :o)

Returning to Paul's original post, one episode of Columbo was about a psychic murdering a sceptic scientist who had a background as a magician.

The episode was a very enjoyable one, and even included some exposure of important mentalism principles.

In that episode, the psychic, exposed as a magician by Columbo, was being scientifically tested for psychic abilities in a place called - "The Annemann Institute"...

P.S.
Nice to see canadian Ronnie back on the board...

I remember that Columbo episode - Anthony Andrews (Sebastian Flyte in Brideshead Revisited) played the fake psychic and murderer.

I also remember the "fool-proof" psychic test/mentalist trick performed that was exposed - a number of drivers were supplied with road atlases, "marker" pens, Polariod cameras, portable fax machines and, most importantly, blindfolds...
