I purchased a folding table to use for pitching. Can anyone recommend a way to make it taller? I gave it some thought and came up with a few ways but I thought I would ask the professionls for ideas before I screwed the table up.

Most folding tables have adjustable legs -- but I guess yours doesn't. If there is a Sam's Club in your area, go and see their 4' folding adjustable $40 table. If you like it, then take the one you bought back for a refund and buy this instead. I have used one for indoor shows for four seasons now, and it has held up just fine. Sam's also has a 4' plain (non-folding) table that I use for outdoor shows; it's slightly heavier and sturdier, and also in good shape after four seasons. Both tables have a solid plastic top and a coated steel frame -- light to carry but very stable, durable and reliable.
In my experience, the table should come up to about your waist. The whole idea is that your hands can reach the table without you having to bend over (and overwork those lower back muscles). So how much higher does your table need to be? If it's just an inch or two, you might try propping the table up with one or two some square patio blocks under each leg, about $1 each at the local hardward store or Home Depot. But if it needs to be any higher, that might not be the most stable arrangement. Kids have a tendency to lean on the table and if they accidentally knock it off the blocks, everything is likely to go flying. SETH

Just go to Lowe's and buy PVC pipe that goes over the legs on the table. You want to be up about one foot and have the table top to hit about waist height.

I like to use the Joe Lefler table (large size) with a small stool behind it. I'm 5'7". Keep all my product in the table, and is easy to transport.

Do what Don says - it works. That's exactly what I have under the legs of my table.
If you want to raise it up 1 foot, you have to cut the pipes a few inches longer than one foot. Exactly how much longer depends on the table's legs. Start longer, and yoiu can always cut them shorter. Experiment a little. -JoeJoe
