Here's one of Ruth Pitts doing her very classy rings and salt act. She is very elegant and carries herself on stage with the grace of a dancer. Note the beautiful table. It looks like a Thayer Special Table.

One more tonight:
Here is Lucy Sanders (R) introducing Bill Pitts for his afternoon magic talk. He covered his life in magic and some of his friends. My favorite story besides the Doctor Templar Show story was his recounting of years of doing the Canvas Covered Box Escape Challange. The secret to his success with it was simple and bold but effective. He very generously told me I could use the video of his talk however I wanted. I'm hoping the audio is clear toward the end. About 20 minutes before the end of his talk someone came in with a bunch of new window fans and started putting them together and turning them on all around the video mic. (Did someone mention it was hot?) Sometimes you just have to take things like they come.

I showed it to Jay Marshall to see if he knew who the magician was and he said he didn't know ..." but that's a Thayer Economy Table," he said. Jay Marshall was a table man. Check back in a couple of days for a few more pictures of the event. Thanks Pete.

Kudos to Bob and Lucy for opening up their ranch for this event. Thanks much! You think you will have this again? Are you crazy? If at all possible count me in.
For those of you who didn't make it, shame on you. You missed a good time, good people, and good magic. Next time I'll bring my fishing pole. Ray

There were some real high points in Clanton this past weekend.
Bob and Lucy built a very nice, small theater that seats about 80. The sound was great and the acts were all fun, entertaining, educational and inspirational. Nice hotel, good rates, convenient location. Super nice attendees with mostly positive attitudes. I hope I'm still around for next year's MVM.

LOST AND FOUND ALERT!!!
While packing up at the arena on Saturday afternoon, I evidently lost a pair of sunglasses with a multicolor neck strap, and a Mickey Mouse "Happy Birthday" silk that I got for my daughter's birthday. If anyone possibly ended up with these in your stuff, please let me know. Thanks...

ClintonMagus,
I remember seeing the Mickey Mouse silk in your area, but I was not down there the whole time. So, you definitely did have it with you, in-case there was any doubt about you having it with you at the Flea Market. Ray, Even with the farmer's tan you still did not qualify for being a Redneck. It goes much deeper than just a tan, it is a style of life.
Be remembered for performing what looks like MAGIC, not skill.

You didn't get a Unicorn on the Magic Valley Ranch 2010 tee-shirt? Brett Boyer sold them for $5 each and then donated the money to Lucy's cause. (The AC repair may be still covered under warranty.)
Mine is red to match my "farmers' tan". Carl Michaels left here with a real "redneck" reminder too. But his is real! Let's hope that it heals. Now we know why some magicians wear gloves. |

Ray,
Sorry about your not having the (needed!) "cool one" in your hands here. Thank you for keeping us legal during an election year. The county is dry but all four cities in the county are wet. The moonshiners and preachers keep it that way. They hate competition. My personal experience with the county law is that they are in collusion with crime in the county too. We have to keep our nose clean while waiting for the new Attorney General taking office in January. Remember that Alabama has been under Democrat control for 136 consecutive years. Loosing a war with the Yankees can be Hell-to-pay. We would love to have civil rights for taxpayers in Alabama. In the next revolution, I hope the Yankees join us! Bob |

I came home with an Axtell dragon puppet that blows smoke from his nose!! I know that sounds like some kind of metaphor but it's literal. My son Douglas came home with a load of stuff...everybody kept giving him things. Great things like a mutant rat, decapitated head, exposed brain cap...you know, kid stuff.
