In reading these posts, am I to assume that everyone is using the bigger wands to do the TT/silk routine? Where are the original thinkers out there? I bet you're all saying the same catch phrase with each transition.
I see 5 volunteers ... lined up smallest to tallest with tallest being an adult ... all holding a wand ... comedy with adult having smallest wand and smallest kid having giant wand ... loads of posibilities ... what could you do with that situation? What other ideas can you dream up? wes holly |

I use the wands in just about every show, but only 5 wands. This allows me to get 5 kids (6 if you include the child who is going to have the magic 'happen') up, with the smallest child in the audience getting the biggest wand. Any fewer, I think, would not have the same build, but any more would be too long of a routine. After I give out the big wands, I say that what we need is not just bigger wands...but "MORE MAGIC WANDS!!" at which point I throw on some music and give out drobbins wands to everyone in the audience (with my sticker on each).

By the way...i don't use the TT/silk...i use an idea of Brian Flora, where I have a child tear up a piece of tissue paper...and after all the wands are given out, I pull a mouth coil streamer out of the child's hand. I used to use a series of silly wands (breakaway, Silly billy, etc), but have replaced those with the bigger wands.
The mouth coil gets a tremendous reaction from the birthday child...especially since the 'magic' happens for 20 or 30 seconds. |

I'd be interested to hear what others use as the magic part of the routine besides the suggested TT/silk. I didn't want to get into something too involved fearing it would take away from the focus of the wands getting bigger.

I would not want to use the wands for an elaborate trick where the wands would take away from the magic.
I agree, at least for me. it's probably better for a simple trick. I use silly wands in my change bag routine only.

Y'all bought a prop, not a trick. As with any prop, the list of uses for it is only as short as your imagination. (Did you really pay $145-$230 to vanish a silk?)
What if every routine in your show used an increasingly bigger wand? Now you have a running gag and an attentive audience waiting to see how big the next wand will be. There are more ideas out there if you look for them. wes holly |

I have got the set for 6 month but only has 2 chances to use on stage show. most if not all of my shows are birthday party and I could not think of a good way to set it up in and hiding the wand in birthday party situation. Anyone has any great idea to share? practical idea appreciated
