I do stroll around restaurant mentalism and I was wondering if I will look awkward if I carried around a small messenger bag to keep my props in...
Here's how the bag looks. The black version of this http://shop.guess.com/ProductDetails.asp......ageType= Johnny |

That's too big for carry on luggage isn't it?
No, seriously, I always thought I would need something but I just stash it all in my jacket. Maybe you are trying to carry too much. J |

Well, I think it needs to be that large, otherwise, if you use a stooge, where are you going to keep him?

Pocket Writing in a purse like that would be a breeze! Imagine the index in this?
Forget all the cards that mentalist try to pack into a wallet...this will hold them all. If it is YOU...get it. yet, I would find it distracting from your performance. Now a DOCTORS BAG... -Scott M |

Like John, everything is in my pockets.
I am just wondering, Johnny, how much stuff do you carry around for strolling mentalism?

Do you wear a jacket?
Seems like that would carry all of that light of a load. What on the list makes for a 'big' bulge? Pocket management & extra pockets in trousers could help. Maybe a small wooden box with a mystic symbol on it to hold your goods? -Scott M |

I have a dinky little man-bag that I sometimes roll out to close-up performances, with a fat stash of forks in, extra decks, pens etc, but I usually just stick it in a safe place and go back for refills. It was small enough that I could carry it without it being incongruous, I could get a laugh by calling it out as my magic man-bag, but I tend not to do that.
Not suitable for all venues I guess, but then, nor am I. Phill

I dropped one trick from my set and re-pocketed the rest. I carried; Sponge Balls Rubber Bands Deck of cards Peak Wallet pens iPhone Wallet Packet Card tricks Coins Micro 5 Business Cards I used two front pockets and back pocket of my trousers (pants) and my shirt pocket. There may have been slight bulges, but you know what, my clients had a blast. If I had a very slight bulge in my trouser pockets, nobody cared, they loved the show. I just don't understand your problem. Focus on what's more important first. Derek |

And the Jacket pockets aren't always reliable because I live in CA and it get pretty hot here so I won't always have my jacket on. So my question is will the bag interfere with the performance in any way? |

I don't see how the bag would interfere unless you have to go fishing around in it any time you need something. Is the bag compartmentalized?

I’m performing a show next month at a spoken word event here in Iraq. So, I purchased a black photographer’s vest from Amazon.com to deal with the hot weather. The one I use is called a “Rothco Deluxe Safari Outback Vest” and it has 20 pockets.
