Here's a place to start from;

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5700378573268084116#

This is an episode very early in the first season. "Cygnus Alpha" is a prison planet Blake and the others have been sentenced to. (Blake and his crew have already escaped by this point and are experimenting with the ship.)

Stoneunhinged: Aaaaargh! Breasts on American TV! Everybody panic! Call the FCC!

I saw breasts on MONTY PYTHON ... what, 40 years ago? I watched TORCHWOOD from the BBC and heard language and saw skin they'd never show in the US.

I guess Her Majesty's subjects are more mature than we are.

I saw breasts on Benny Hill once, it turned out he had to go out of the country to shoot that sequence and it got him into trouble.

Incidently, I don't think showing boobies automatically counts as maturity.

Which was my point with Benny Hill.

Typically, Germans will say that the reason we have so much nudity on television here is that it is completely unimportant. Which is a contradiction, I think.

I like nudity. Virtually every time my wife takes a shower I come up with some reason to discuss something "important" with her. I also like to see other women naked, strangely enough. I figure as long as I'm faithful to my wife, a bit of fantasy only results in the stimulation of hormones that make our bed such a wonderful place.

She, on the other hand, accused me just today (while I visited her in the shower) of only sitting at the computer to look at pictures of naked women.

Should we tell her that the truth is that I spend most of my time at the computer reading the Magic Café? Better not. She'd probably call me a pervert.

But at least it is a perversion that would broadcast uncensored on the Syfi channel.

Oh, I certainly don't argue with looking at naked women. I just don't consider it particularly mature.

OK, in ScyFy's defense, "WAREHOUSE 13!"

???

I dunno "Warehouse 13," but I've been burnt by SyFy so much that I'm afraid to give them the chance. Not to mention that "sci fi" to me does NOT equate with "cheezy horror." If I want that, (and sometimes I do) I'll watch the "Chiller" chanel (and sometimes, I do.)

"Chiller" is probably owned by the same people that own "SyFy." *cy*

Actually, I DID see breasts on TV once that was done in a touching and mature way.

I can't remember the show, but it was a medical drama. The character in question had to have cosmetic surgery on her breasts. She was terrified of what the results would be. At the end of the episode, she's sitting with the sheets around her and a mirror in her hands. She opens the sheets and I expected the camera to cut to a back shot or a shot of the doctors reactions, but the camera stayed on her as we saw her breasts (which, btw, were very pretty).

I'm with Critter on Warehouse 13. Yes...90% of the movies on SyFy are crap. Their series however are sometimes brilliant. I like some of the Miniseries as well- The Dune miniseries, Tin Man and Alice were really good.
But just wait for "Sharktopus" to come out. It promises to be worse than the giant piranha movie. When it comes to the Syfy channel, it pays to be selective.

Is that like, what do you get when you cross a shark with an octopus?

I'm guessing you get rejected by the studio execs.

I love Eureka, Warehouse 13 and Sanctuary. I was also a Huge fan of Battlestar Gallactica. Their movies often leave something to be desired. The movie in question from the OP is Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus and it starred 2 waning stars not just one....Lorenzo Lamas and Deborah (formerly Debbie) Gibson. It is absolutely terrible. I once watched a movie on the SyFy that included a post apocalyptic world where there were cars driving in the background...Sad just sad...

That is exactly what it is...And it is currently under production.
I don't think I will watch that one.
