I can think of Moving Point, Pip Streak/Moving Pips, and Presto Printo off the top of my head. What else is there?

I'm old school. I'll take McDonald's Aces or any of the myriad gaffed Wild Card handlings any day.

How about NFW, Final Aces, 1-2-3-4- Ascanio, or Cardtoon.

I gotta say MacDonald's Aces or Final Aces. With a great handling, Bikers by Gordon Bean is also one of the best.

I have to say that Blank Deck routines are great, the disappearance of all the faces and backs of the cards is really startling to spectators. (My favorite version though is definitely Marshall Brodien's Blank Deck)

Lay people are astounded at tricks where a printed deck turns blank...if the blank display is convincing. Some of the best are: BLIZZARD (Dean Dill), THOUGHTLESS (Peter Nardi), and FADEOUT (Meir Yedid) all of which allow the performer to show all faces have turned blank with a corresponding convincing display of the backs. BLIZZARD actually allows the cards to be examined after the final display.

I've been playing with these recently:
Twilight Angels The Growing Card Watermark (this actually uses a gaffed napkin not a gaffed card but I'll include it anyway haha) All of these get great reactions! |

Hi, Sohaib!
All of the mentioned ones are great! I have one I made up years ago, using a 2-color DB, and four different-backed cards with beer labels. I'm not sure where the inspiration came from, but it's a sort of "Twisting The Aces" routine. The ace of clubs, two of clubs, three of clubs, and four of clubs all turn face down one at a time, and turn face up again, as the next one turns face down, all showing BLUE backs. I then ask, "What color are the backs of the cards?" They say, "Blue." I then Flushtration count to show RED backs! After a moment, when that sinks in, I say, "Don't tell anyone you saw both red AND blue, they'll think you've been DRINKING", then show the four different beer label backs. I put this together 15 or 20 years ago. Maybe someone can clue me in, the name of the effect that started me on this. Anyone? Doug |

Hi, Doug!
The trick you invented sounds very similar to Nick Trost's Trick Kards. I think the first effect that started cards turning over and then changing into all different backs was Oliver McKenzie's My Drink Trick. - Sohaib |

Wow, Thanks, Sohaib! I think the actual title is, "Oliver MacKenzie's Drink Trick", with hard liquor labels. Different effect. I can't find anything with Nick Trost. "Trick Kards" must have been quite far back.
I didn't invent the trick. I just adapted it, first, with Pepsi, Coke, Sprite, and Dr. Pepper. I really couldn't find a reason for the change to soda labels. I think the trick that I bought had mirror-like backs. "Done With Mirrors" was the theme, but I cannot recall for the life of me the actual name. I just added the Beer label cards, because it made sense to end with, "...they'll think you've been drinking!" I've done it that way ever since. I had to buy four decks, just to get the ace, two, three and four! Still, I've gotten a lot of mileage out of that packet trick. My first adaption was to make the backs turn to all different flower backs, for the ladies. Then the soda, and finally the beer backs. Doug |
