To be anal, it's not the real "Bruce." (of which there were three.)

It's a fourth shark which was used in Universal City Studios.

My wife tells a story about working at Xerox during the filming of Jaws. Seems the film crew had a Xerox machine which needed servicing. The service man, made the repairs and found himself alone, in the storeroom the machine with in with "something" under a large covering... he took a look, came face to face with one of the Bruces and called the office; "Do you know what they've GOT in there?"
"There's no time to lose," I heard her say.

I like how the article talked about a possible remake and Bruce might come back.

Please!

You know the remake will suck, lose all the charm of the first one, and the shark will be CGI.

I agree with Randi. The Jaws classic movie scared the *$%# out of me back when I first saw it and to remake it with a computer graphic shark is just not scary. It would also be somewhat predictable and they just don't make horror movies like they did in the 70's and 80's.

Being 40 years old I can tell you that a Jaws remake would just not be anywhere near as suspeseful as the original. That being said, I hope this latest Bruce does find a good final "rusting" I mean resting place as it is truly a Hollywood movie classic iron.

As magicians we create what onlookers call magic. If they truly believe in what we have created for them to witness then magic is real!!!

One was cool.

Two had its seconds. I kinda liked the scene where Brody has to tell the wife the city fired him for not backing down on the new shark. "I've never been fired before."

Three was lame. Look up the nostaliga critic http://www.thatguywiththeglasses.com go to "videos" and "nostaliga critic" for a ripping review of the third film.

I only saw moments of "Jaws-The Revenge," but it didn't look all that great.

I saw the first ones.

I think a new remade JAWS would be great!

Of course it would be different, but WHY CAN'T IT BE GOOD WITH CGI?

Because it's NEW technology it will be bad?

The new Star Wars looked far better with the CGI. Even the old Star Wars with added CGI looks better.

If we thought like that, Spiderman would not have been remade.

Have you seen the 70s Spiderman? Smile

One of the worse disasters in a remake was "The Day the Earth Stood Still." For those of you who saw and remember the original you have to wonder what the remake was all about as it is not even close to the original which is a classic.
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000

I think Jaws was scary because of what you couldn't see. If they remake it the shark will look great but it loses that something special....wait...wait a minute... the shark attacks a topless beach during the World Cheerleader Convention! I'm there!

And the only reason you couldn't see it was because Steven couldn't get the shark to work on time and had to shoot around it for most of the movie.

Let's see if I can get a link for the review of "Jaws 3."

See if that works.

Yes... the shark didn't work and it ended up being a better movie for it.

It's what is not seen that makes it scary.

There have already been movies with CGI sharks in them.
Don't you remember?
no?
Exactly!!

And to compare good remakes of bad movies is apples to oranges.
Spiderman? Anything would have been better.

And the redone Star Wars with CGI, is a matter of opinion.

I'd forgotten all about it, but I remember going to Universal many years ago when they had the Jaws ride. You went out on a boat and the shark attacked it and then came up out of the water, close enough that you could touch it. The thing was huge. I seem to remember they told us it wasn't the shark from the movie.

The Jaws ride is still there. At least it was farily recently when I rode it.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

As the survivor of a unenthusiastic shark 'attack' it does scare the crap out'a people watching even if the shark is a wuss, like mine was.
