There used to be a magic shop in Topeka, KS in the early 1980's called "Arturo's." I can't remember the owner's real name, but I was told he was an old time magician who performed under the name "Arturo." I used to have a set of illusion plans called "Arturo's Cutting a Woman in Sixths." I don't know if it was the same Arturo or not. Does anyone remember that shop and the old time magician?

The plans were from Abbott's and from Glen Babbs who went by the name Arturo. It is not the same guy in Kansas. Can't help any more.

Thank you Richard. When I posted the question, I temporarily forgot about that Arturo. Glen Babbs was a great craftsman. I know the Abbott's props that he worked on were a step well above the regular Abbott line, and I think the regular line was pretty good.
The Kansas Arturo was involved with the SAM club in Topeka at the time and was kind of their resident "star" so to speak. I'm guessing there were several "Arturo's" across the country. Thanks for our help.

In case anyone read this before and is curious, the "Arturo" in Topeka was named Chuck Larkey. I was on the phone last week with a magician from the area and it suddenly came to me.

I had a "Cutting a Woman in Sixths" built for me from the Abbott's plans 15 years ago, and still own and use it deceptively. The latter was "The Queen's Cut" by Osborne. Anyhow, I found that Arturo formerly built props for U.F. Grant, and then went exclusively to Abbott's. He invented the Cutting a Woman in Sixths.
