I agree - it does play well for the younger crowd (McCombical). Even the younger kids notice that the cards have changed from red to black. This is a good routine for most ages.

When I do the split deck it KILLS for kids that age. Absolutely KILLS. Of course, it is possible it's the performer and not the trick.

As for McCombical, No, No, a thousand times No! Kids WILL call out that they are the same. Heck, obnoxious ADULTS sometimes do!

I own (and highly recommend( The "Banana Split" Deck, which can be purchased through Dick Stoner. Here is a video of him doing it:

Isn't the "Banana Split" deck the exact same thing as the Comedy Split Deck... with just a different name?
