Has it been done and, if so, by whom?

I dunno, but it's a brilliant idea.

Start with umbrellas open for the person to lay on, close to show suspension. Figure out how to add some rain.

Originated and performed by Sarlot and Eyed of Dance of Illusion. I believe they performed it at Abbotts last summer and elsewhere a couple years before.

There are a couple mentions here of levitations with umbrellas in use.

I remember Scott Cervine doing his version as a self-levitation/flying carpet. I think it was on a TV special called "Magic at the Magic Castle", probably early 90's.

Purely in the style of the sword suspension, I can't recall seeing one.

There was a magic act at the Magic Castle (juniors I believe)who did a double (broom) suspension using 2 beach umbreallas and 2 girls on each side of a sub trunk! This is back about 30 years ago, I believe around the time Kalin came on the scene with his pool act.

I should have mentioned, if you have a Jack Hughes' sword or axe suspension the conversion would not be that difficult.
