I have been thinking of switching out all my par 64 stage lights and replacing them with the newer LED Pars, However the outdoor LED stage lights are very costly and a couple people tell me they do not give off as much light as traditional stage lighting. If anyone uses these new outdoor LED stage lights if you could please give me your input it would be much appreciated.

I'm interested in this as well, I do a street performance act and briefly considered adding LED lighting so I could work into the night under less well lit conditions.
I wrote about it here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......&forum=6 Not exactly Par lighting, but the idea is the same. I abandoned the idea after some less-than-stellar reviews of what products were out there, but that was over a year ago, and the LEDs are really coming into their own these days. I welcome any info people might have on this subject!

For a street performance you could look at the battery powered ones so you can work untethered. Just a thought.

2016 update:
LED fixtures keep getting brighter. However, I find that my ETC source four par fixtures are much brighter for the yellows, warm white light, especially with beam spread control using the various lenses. The LED fixtures are much much brighter and efficient on power than the incandescent in the blue and green color spectrum but lack the beam spread control. |
