I am visiting Europe soon and am very interested in visiting sites of magical significance, I am visiting Paris, Rome, Munich, Prague and Berlin. Any ideas?

Go to the web sites of the various magic clubs in those cities and contact the secretary or president of each club. They can help you find various things.

There are active IBM rings in Paris, Munich and Berlin. There may be one in Rome as well. For the German clubs, though, you should contact the Magischer Zirkel von Deutschland e.V.

In Prague, it is a bit difficult to make connections with the local magicians. There was a fellow from Prague on this forum, but I haven't seen a post from him in a couple of years. His name is Andrew Strawberry. Historically, Prague is the home of the famous Golem.

Bill's idea is a great one. Depending on when you're going, you might also want to join the Magic Collectors' Association so you can get their magazine, Magicol. It's a bargain for $30/year, and they've started a "walking tour" series of articles which will cover famous magic locations in big cities; the first was on Chicago in the most recent issue, and I know they have plans for Paris, London, etc. Bob Read did a very nice walking tour of London in 2005, which was given out as a map and keepsake for The Magic Circle's 100th celebration. Find someone who attended that and see if you can get the map - you might also google "magic walking tour" and "Bob Read" and see what comes up.
