Can anyone out there tell me which Bob Cassidy book has his routine where he splits adeck of cards between 2 spectators and then names every card they hold? I believe that the routine is called Card Control.
It is available as a L&L DVD but I'd rather have the book. I tried looking on Lybrary.com but I couldn't spot it there. Thanks, John

Why not go straight to the source and ask Bob? He is a subscriber and regular reader/poster here. Use the "search" button to bring up some of his recent posts and you can send him a PM.

Dick,
I was trying not to bother Bob directly as I'm sure he is constantly bombarded with PM and other requests. Regards, John

It's in his booklet "The art of mentalism 2" as well as in his book "The Artful Mentalism".
Hope that helps! Chris

Just noticed this thread. All of the references are correct except that the video and dvd were produced by Meier Yedid, not L&L.
The Art of Mentalism 2, in which I first described my version of "Card Memory," is now included in The Artful Mentalism of Bob Cassidy. It is the same routine as the one I perform before a live audience and later explain on the video. Good thoughts, Bob Cassidy |

Bob I already like the presentaion style. Your blank movie screen..... very much like I am already thinking. The mind processes in images easier than words, which are nothing more than a group of symbols or images that represent the mental concept of a given thing. So I try and start out with a spec. clearing the images and starting off with a blank or a void and building from there. I'm just getting into mentalism, so right now I'm a sponge. Reading everything I can. Thanks for paving the road. Cheers Frank |

Bob,
Thanks for confirming the sources and especially for publishing such a great routine. I first saw it performed in the UK about 12 years ago when a local mentalist closed his act with it. I thought it was fantastic and it was years later that I found that you were the source. Still it is not the sort of routine that would fit my character so it's been stored away in the back of my head since then as a great routine and nothing more than that. I then had the pleasure of listening to your interview on the Magic Newswire podcast (what a great interview that was) where you recount the incident when your father was in the audience and you got every single card wrong. I then had one of those fantastic eureka moments when I realised that by getting all the cards wrong I can use it in an existing routine that I have and it should help lift it from a good routine to a great routine (I hope). Regards, John

John-
Yeah- my dad passed away some 17 years ago, but I imagine he's still laughing about that version of the routine. Bob |

On a slightly related note the Artful Mentalism of Bob Cassidy is definatly in my top three mentalism products. To me when I recieved it, it was the right book at the right time.
