Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can help. I am looking for effects that replicate poltergeist activity. For example, loud bangs, things jumping off shelves etc. It is a bit of a new area for me so I am a bit green around the ears for this one. Ideally, I would like to get hold of Real Ghost or Real Ghost 2 but they are a little out of my price range at the moment. Before anyone suggests it, I have used the search button but I am finding it difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff. Can anyone recommend their favourite effects relating to this or suggest any sources that I could look up. Ideally, the timing of the phenomena would be under my control and doesn't necessarily have to be visible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Mark |

Mark -
Unfortunately most good PK effects are a bit on the high priced side, ala Tim Wisseman and Chris Taylor's stuff, all of which are useful. Bob Nelson told me many years ago that threasd is the most useful item in a seance and a little imagination with it will go a long was. And it's cheap and can duplicate any of the higher end item with little fear of failure. Personally I use both in my work with great success. the best, Damon

I fear you may be right, Damon.
I certainly can't find anything worthwhile, although more suggestions are welcome from anyone else. I take Bob's point about thread but really want the phenomena to be away from the centre of the room and not anywhere in my vicinity. I also will not be able to have prior access to set a lot of this stuff up. I will keeping thinking about thread though and see if I can come up with anything suitable. Do you have a link for the Tim Wisseman stuff? Thanks again, Damon. |

I would say Tim's Dead Rap would fit perfectly if you want controlled knocks from anywhere. You can find it at Hocus Pocus along with all of his other stuff as well.

Allow me to add my vote of confidence for the Wisseman products. I, like my friend Chad, own several of his effects and can attest to their reliability and superior effect upon audiences. I am also currently working with Tim Wisseman on his next contribution and can affirm that he is a reliable, honest and trustworthy builder who stands behind his products. Here is a link that can tell you more:

Might I suggest go the haunted house in the garage route with some of the effects? Lots of mono-filaments, hidden hinged lumber behind walls, secret assistants, etc? Nothing beats a monster list of haunted projects.

Tim Wisseman is a very skiiled and very nice guy. I have most of his effects and use them frequently. His service is fantastic and I wish that he was around years ago doing what he does so well. Anyway, keep up the great work. I look forward to the next item.
as always, Damon
