NEW YORK (Reuters) - Gold jumped Wednesday for a fifth straight day, hitting record highs near $1,300 an ounce as the dollar tumbled the day after the Federal Reserve raised expectations that more monetary easing was on the way.
By the weekend perhaps it will get to where yours truly said it would be. Yet from what I have seen this week there are still plenty of people out there spending as if it’s the roaring twenties. They must be the ones who listened to my tip to buy at $1135 an once.

Good question. Get out and into what? That dirty paper we call cash is going down the more they print and they will be printing even more very soon.

Perhaps you should reinvest your profit in fine art, or real estate. I have all of my money tied up in groceries right now, but after a few bookings this weekend I'll be ready to reinvest more money in another refrigerator load of food for next week.

If you sell something for a dollar today, and that dollar can't buy you that same something back in a few years, well, think how little gold those dollars buy now compared to just a few years ago.

Gold surpassed the $1300 mark on Friday. Looks to have settled a shade below though. Things are picking up! We had our official corporate opening of our new Bar & Bistro tonight and it went wonderfully well. It was full of stock broker and banker sorts. I gave them the benefit of my financial advice and they were most obliged. Up my winding stair we may have a game on just as soon we can set one up. It will be on the square, well least close to it, just down the hill from St Paul’s Square.

Gold is a rollercoaster that you will have to get off of one day, and move to something a bit more stable. Can I interest you in a bridge in Brooklyn? There's a bridge in London I might be able to get you for a few bars of gold.

O don’t speak me to of French. We have a French chef and I, thinking I was the boss, went into “his” kitchen, just had little taste of something he had cooked and he went absolutely berserk at me; told me, in no uncertain terms, it was “his” kitchen and he didn’t care if I owned the place. I am not to ever enter “his” kitchen ever again and touch “his” food without his permission. I thought the revolution had started. Plume de ma tante!

Yes Al and lots of beautiful women customers also. Not tonight Josephine as its closed because of that leak. It flooded the downstairs. They have had to knock an hole in the wall to get at it. We have had builders etc doing the place up for months with no such problem and as soon as we open that happens. Nothing is easy is it? Its like you said it’s a roller coaster. One day you are up and the next day you down.
