I have Kozmos DVDs and I wound to make his table. I am not much of a DIY person, but I get the plywood, I can workout the surface cloth, but between them he says put some foam.

Any idea what kind of foam, and where I can purchase it.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Large fabric stores often have a selection of 'foam rubber' products. You could check one of those in your area.

You can usually find 1/2" foam at most fabric shops. Automobile headliner material would also be good, but I would use two layers, since it is only 1/4" thick.

The selection of foam is not as good as it once was, because some of the foam products produced toxic vapors when they were set on fire, and this tended to kill people that were smoking while sleeping in bed.

I like a little stiffer pad. I used two layers of the dense foam rubber sheets they sell at hardware stores to line tool drawers.

I use velveteen stretched over thick, tightly woven, industrial carpeting. Foam is good, but there are other options too.

I used a yoga mat covered with goat hide for this one.
If you're using fabric, the texture could be a problem.
The very best stuff I found is the closed cell foam used on offset printing presses.
A Pattrick's Mat would be excellent too.
