You know.. I haven't seen the video yet.. I'm at the library.. but I've had something like this happen to me before.. even if it was live.. there are times where luck comes to play and people actually name a card and number that happens to be in the same place.
He's probably done other shows and he probably has picked up the deck.. but because this was such great luck and it just happen to hit perfectly.. it's promoted more on websites cause it's just that much more unbelievable... whereas the other ones don't really get shown. dunno.. just my thoughts.. but yes a stooge could also be another method. |

There are still 10~20 audiences could have catch the ball. Perhaps he used a good ACAAN method with some clever video editing to hide the method. |

It occurs to me that, the number 49 is far from an ideal choice of position from the point of view of the
producers of the show (and indeed the performer). They would surely have changed this number if it was at all possible. The fact that they didn't gives us a huge clue as to the method. From a theatrical point of view, it is a flawed method - once the 9 of Spades had been genuinely freely selected, the second stooged assistant has no choice but to name 49, leading to a drawn out dealing procedure to bring the trick to a conclusion. |

So funny to read people discussing what the method might be. Hideo already said it all.
I thought it was dull. And why do it in chinese??!!! He alienated so many millions of people, including me!!! Basic error, but he is young and he will learn. |

Alienated millions to entertain just over a billion, rookie...
One time, when I was young, I botched a sleight so bad, Vernon, Marlo & Miller rolled over in their graves. But I didn't see Elmsley, probably because he was behind the others.

This is Lu Chen performing, not a ACAAN, but something pretty close and very impressive. *note - it's after the Nudist Deck routine.

Richard Kaufman is finishing up the book he's writing with David Berglas devoted, for the most part, to a full explanation off the Berglas Effect. Warning -- it's difficult.

Haha, you watch so carefully. I also notice it. Another thing is interesting is that
if you compare the last moment when the girl flipped the 48th card to when she picked the 49th card, you will find that the card on the glass edage turned 90 degree. There is a cut at 08:09.This can be the key or nothing. Quote:

Ouch, you are right : take a picture of the film at 8:08 and ~8:30 and you will see that the dealt cards change, except the last one.
