Received this today, but prefer a much stripped-down approach; On the table is a blue-backed card, face down.
Show the deck, all faces to be different, all the backs have a unique symbol, all 52 of 'em. Show laminated card depicting the 52 symbols, ask spec. to merely think of just one them. Find matching symbol in the deck - the face of this card will match your tabled card. Sometimes spectators get lost in this type of plot (this card, that card, no; my prediction's really on the backs etc. etc) I have several similar card effects. This keeps it to the point; 52 symbols - think of just one; here are 52 cards, find your thought-of symbol... and your done. GS |

Table your prediction card, a card from a different deck and openly show its face and back (say, 7S with candle on the rear). Ask the spec. to remember one of the 52 symbols, then think of card, obviously, NOT the 7S. On the table will now be two randomly chosen cards plus your open prediction. All faces/backs match. GS |

So before the routine, we have one or two cards? I'm lost here and considering it's now 3 a.m. it's a sign I have go to bed

Can the deck be shuffled by the spec?

Spec cannot handle the deck. Routine is such that the deck is out of play at the end.

Your idea would be great for strolling, especially if you have loads of tables to do. Peter Nardi's routine would be great for parlour or a small cabaret where you have more time for your presentation. We now have presentations for all types of venues/situations, love it!! Thank you. Just bought another set - this is set-up to use clock faces; your spec. now names any hour followed by their choice of minutes (say, 3:50), then they name any card (9C). As before all choices match your tabled prediction (nine of clubs/3:50)...

May I know the setup, GhostSurfer? It sounds unique and great. You can tell it in PM.

Hi 'Failed' - you really must change your name(!) - instead of using the supplied symbols, substitute these for random clock-face times (any hour, any 5 mins past that hour). Explain the usual premise (52 cards; 52 clock faces. Ask them to name a card then choose a clock face (say QC & 03:55). As per normal routine, these match your tabled prediction...

So we put random hours and minutes? Such as: 03:55; 13:10; 17:55, etc?

SAS, you can grab two decks with different force cards, so you could do two different routines with different approach.
The one that GS told about the facing up card is also very good, I think I'm gonna do it next time I use this.

Great ideas, thank you.
When Mark and I were first developing Thought Wave we had many ideas, our original were the symbols you see now but we also made up a few other versions. We made up a set which used casino names and a lucky card presentation (I still use this version), a set with name places (cities and towns in the UK) a set with countries, one with swear words (there's a time and place for everything!!) and even a set with different foods and their prices (we developed a special menu), so you can see how this effect is very versatile, and once you have the principle you can come up with just about anything. Also don't forget that if you're doing any corporate work you can print up a card for trade shows and product launches etc (I have a set made up for an electronics company I do corporate shows for). Keep the ideas coming! Gary Jones.
