I could, but just like with the CSI videos, you get accused of video manipulation of Criss Angel proportions!
I'll do a WYSIWYG video soon, and the doll's house doll will be featured tomorrow... |

Some new images of Dolly Darko's little friend - this antique doll's house doll has had some abuse over the years and, of course, every Dolly Darko comes with one!
This replaces the red sponge ball from the original Sefalaljia 'Ball in Glass' routine. At the start of the routine, Dolly Darko will drag this small doll under the curtain; on opening the curtain, the small doll is set between her legs, very eerie... A small wooden box or wine glass is placed in the cabinet, and the curtains are drawn once more. You ask Dolly to put her toy back in the box (or glass), the curtains twitch, movement can be heard and on opening the curtain, the doll has moved again to the box... Both Dolly Darko and 'the little chap' can be handled and inspected before and after the performance. The little chap also comes from a family of four; he's the smallest - be prepared for more dolls from the Lebanon Circle studio! |

Left the above pic on the screen at work when I went to finish my break. When I came back, my manager, who just got in, was looking at the doll. She turned to me and said, "Why can't you do something with a nice bunny or something?" and left.
Oh, I can hardly wait to get this. |

I'm working on a routine where the doll is placed in a small musical toy box. The small doll is sat on Dolly Darko's lap, and a small closed wooden toy chest is placed inside the cabinet. You ask Dolly to return the doll to the chest and close the curtains.
You hear some movement, the curtains twitch and the toy chest starts to play eerie music as it is opened, followed by a final 'clunk' as the small doll is placed inside the toy chest. Did I also forget to mention that Dolly Darko can talk?....... |

These are stunning, just top notch, Dan. Excited to see what else you have coming, as well.

Love the look of these! They are the final step in behavioral therapy for those who suffer from pediophobia....final, indeed.
Here's a link to a type of doll where you can change its expression to a smile, frown, or asleep. I can imagine something like this being used to great effect! http://www.dollestores.com/md2259.htm

Dan, when you say she talks, can you elaborate a bit more on it? And, do you have to be holding or touching the frame for all effects. Perhaps it just appears you are standing alongside it.

Dolly can be made to manifest any audible activity from whispering at 3am in a guest bedroom in your home (great for stopping the in-laws wanting to come back in a hurry), raps and taps, ringing bells, playing music boxes all from a 30m range (soon to be 75m). The way this operates uses a non-magic term that I picked up in the forces - fire & forget. Rig Dolly up, and she does the rest; all self working, so you don't have to worry and can concentrate on your show.
For the spirit cabinet, this revamps old school techniques, and those familiar with the original Sefalaljia routine will know what I mean. I have just revised and tuned the techniques. You don't have to hold or touch the frame, but you do need to be standing in the vicinity of the cabinet, but you'll need to be up and about anyway to put dolly inside, etc... Hope this helps! |

When it comes to scary things, dolls and clowns really freak people out. This is a seriously creepy psychological effect that, if staged right, would certainly freak out people. There is a true story of a young woman who suicided in 1908. During the winter of 1885, she fought with her little sister over a doll and pushed her. She fell down a river bank into the river and drowned. All thought it a tragic accident, but her sister lived with the truth of what happened for the next 20 years and only admitted it in her final letter.

Hi Dan,
Happy that I am number 15. Can't wait to add this. I have a number of spirit cabinets and think this my be the best yet. |

Love the suicide tale. The original concept story I had was 'Dolly made me do it'. A young girl killed her entire family, and when police asked her why, she insisted that the doll told her to do it. I've created a routine around this idea, but with a creepy doll the opportunities for a suitably macabre tale are endless.
I foresee a whole compendium of routines and effects for Dolly Darko in the future, 'Tales from the Doll's House'. I'll put the wheels in motion. I know that through various discussions I had at Doomsday, we identified at least 30 effects that can be combined with Dolly. |

Seeing Dolly Darko at Doomsaday was an amazing experience.Dolly Darko is very eerie scarey and dark. The mere fact that she is the MEDIUM inside the Spirit Cabinet was enough to send shivers down my spine. I agree with Dan, many routines are possible with this Doll and I have a few of them running through my head already.
This is Bizarre Magic at it's very best! What's next Dan? Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Cheers Roni |
