I hope they say something along the lines of:
"As you read this, be aware that you have ingested enough ricin to guarantee a prolonged, agonising death over the next 3 days. *Warning: May contain nuts*."

I mentioned this to my wife. She said it would be a nice way to propose using a fortune cookie, not the misfortune cookie of evil. But then, I thought, if they say YES, isn't it really the same thing in the long term? Standard fortune cookies can be softened by misting, the paper slip removed and replaced. Cookie's allowed to re-dry and harden. For the frugal conjurer, better than paying a dollar per cookie.

Ah, but the recipe for the cookie is not at all difficult, and they can be made in about 30 minutes total, in a variety of sizes...

Kay,
Agreed! Then, you can put whatever you want inside. The only thing that you are missing is the printed packaging, and that is relatively easy to obtain, open, and re-seal. Chris |

Given that the local food joints that do up a to-go pack just slip them into a waxed paper or glassine envelope, and then into the bag, most of the smaller joints buy them in bulk, and they are NOT individually wrapped; they come in a box about 18" square with a plastic bag liner, and the wait person just reached in and grabs out one or two for your table as needed. Do remember, they are an American invention and NOT found in China or Japan......

I stand corrected and updated on the origins by Lin, who has found a great article tracing the crunch little cookie to Japan!
A google or bing search ought to obtain the info if so interested!
