Much better, but be careful when it comes to appealing to her sense of logic. She has to FEEEEEEEL that's it's the right thing to do Smile

Hi all,

I found these replica coins online and I thought I'd share them with you. The two smaller ones are 38mm and the large one is 42mm! They're all date appropriate for Phantoms and cost $4 each; shipped. These coins will represent "lost silver" for my presentation of Phantoms.
Sorry for the quality of the photo, but you'll get the idea.

Had a great time performing PHANTOMS recently whilst addressing the recent question regarding the book's font size. I have posted the new routine on the Outlaw Forum under PHANTOMS>Methods. Have a look. You'll be glad you did. (The password is listed in your PHANTOMS instruction manual).

I had a look, and I am glad I did.

Hi All, when performing with Phantoms, can the spectator remain silent the entire time while revealing the hits?

Why would they, and if so, how would you accomplish it?

Mind Illusionist:
Sorry for the tardiness of this reply.

PHANTOMS is created in such a manner that you do not need to fish and never peek the book. The performance can actually take place over the telephone after you have sent the book to a friend.

If you desire a presentation in which the spec sits in stony-faced silence, PHANTOMS may be routined thus, but the accompanying performance manual (over 100 pages in length) offers a number of presentations in which the spec will gladly confirm what you see. At my Hallowe'en performance in the "Houdini Room" of the Grove Park Inn last year, the 'book holder' sat apart from the circle during our seance and yet the freely chosen page came to light even without the spec's active participation. I suspect that is what you might have in mind.

That said, PHANTOMS does not work very well as a 'challenge' piece wherein you invite a surly and combative spec to open the book and dare you to tell him which word he is looking at. That isn't the design or purpose of this ghostly manifestation effect.

Hope that is of some assistance to you, and again I apologize for being late in responding.

nb: PHANTOMS is a limited-edition item with a production run of 100 copies only, most of which have already been sold. It will never be reprinted.

Regards,

Thanks Prof BC for the clarification. I do not intend to use Phantoms as a challenge piece, but very happy to hear there is no fishing involved! Will put in my order for it asap Smile are there routines that tie in with Hobbs box or other outlaw books in the manual?

Does anyone have a problem with the relatively small font and if so, how do you deal with it?

Font is fine; Book of Answers is a little small for tired old eyes but allows for the introduction of a vintage magnifying glass....think warehouse 13 relic Smile

Am I alone in thinking that a chance was missed when printing the pictures.

with one little "twist" all the guesswork could be eliminated completely.

LOL Steve. I see what you mean. I just wonder if the book looks more authentic the way it is?

I love the 'T' in. Combine this with the pictures and there's no real guesswork needed.
