To working mentalists pretty standard stuff (clearly a lot of p**-s*** and needs more subtlety on IT) but very engaging and certainly mystified the audience so I can see why he won THE SUCCESSOR competition. Clever phrasing when he explained his supernatural abilities as a child by saying "legend has it"...not quite an admission but not quite a denial. Congrats on your appearance on Tonite Show, Lior!! We look forward to seeing more of you!

Good performance. The audience did like it and that is all that matters. He represented the art form well. Congratulatios.

I thought that the audience was confused by Lior's presentation of 'Touches'. Perhaps not enough time to do that sort of routine justice?
Also noticed that the host and other guest were much more nicely dressed than Lior. That sends a message he might not want to be sending. - entity

Is it really necessary or appropriate even to dress up in sharp suits for modern mentalism these days? Is that not become a bit old fashioned. Now I mention it, I don't think Geller ever wore formal dress. |

No one mentioned formal dress. I think performers should dress appropriately for the occasion. If you perform at a formal event, you dress accordingly. Ditto for a high-level international evening talk show.
Zack Efron, the other guest, is very young but wore a very nice, expensive-looking suit with an open shirt. He looked modern, semi-casual and successful. I've seen photos of Uri performing at or attending formal events, and he was dressed accordingly. - entity

I see lots of all kinds of peformers turning uo in jeans and tee shirts some sharp suits and expensive clothing. Although I do agree with you to an extent I think now a days dress is less important and a matter of personal choice.
But that's just my opinion plus observations of what is happening. However you could be right. |

While Uri generally dressed casually on television, I don't remember him ever dressing cheaply or looking scruffy (except on the cover of Genii magazine).
How they dress in different situations may be less important and a matter of personal choice for some people after they have become successful and the audience is already aware of their success. At that point some individuals can afford to affect that they don't care how others perceive them. - entity

Zack Efron was a young man of his generation and looked very well dressed. Even the Black Keys band (Lior's generation, too) were dressed up for the occasion. I guess they're "old school" too. Seems everyone on the show was "old school" but Lior.
Perhaps it's not a generational thing, but one of taste. - entity

Jay Leno has no need to establish himself with his audiences. They know him yet he wears a suit every night because he's the host of the program. That and he has both taste and respect for his audiences.

It's clear to me that many of you do not perform for the younger/college crowds. If you did, you'd realize that what Lior wore was absoluetly suitable for someone his age. I work colleges constantly and trust me, that is normal dress for this generation. By the way, why aren't we discussing his performance (which I thought was excellent) rather than his appearance??

If you'll re-read my earlier post you'll see that I made a point of saying that you should dress appropriately for the occasion.
Appearance is part of the performance. - entity

Just came upon this review by Las Vegas reviewer Ellen Sterling. She's reviewing Joan Rivers (gives her raves) and then goes on to talk about River's opening act at The Venetian Hotel... Nice going, Lior!
Quote:
Opening for Rivers is Lior Suchard who bills himself as a "mentalizer" and "supernatural entertainer." Perhaps because he's Israeli, the name Uri Geller comes to mind when watching him, but Suchard is much more personable. He has a gift and he enjoys using it. entity

Is there any way to do the trick he showed the cameraman IMPROMPTU? If yes, where can I learn it?

Awesome job Lior! Don't worry about looking exactly like everyone else. They told Willie Nelson to cut his hair and get a suit, or he would never make it in showbusiness.
