I hope not... a large hookbill is an emotional commitment. They *need* you to bond with them, play with them, etc. Without emotional support they can develop some VERY nasty behaviors, like feather plucking. And its a commitment that goes for a lifetime because they will likely outlive you.
Its not something to be taken on lightly. When people ask us what its like having a Macaw my wife tells them, "imagine a 3 year old with wings and a bolt cutter... who will out live you and *never* grow up beyond 3." I love our birds, but we knew what we were getting into when we decided to adopt Pickles.
