None of this has anything to do with Doug being a criminal!
How about we only have hispanic cops ask people for ID's? Would that eliminate the racist aspect? |

Hey Andrew, there is not going to be a redistribution of wealth so don't hold your breath. In the UK the fellow who shared your belief was named Kim Philby, Cambridge guy I believe.

Those 'haves' want to continuing being the 'haves', and if you become a 'have' you'll be right there with them. Heck, even the self proclaimed socialist with money don't walk the walk. If they did they would take the median income and live on that and give the rest to others to elevate them to the median income. They don't because they don't want to live like those people.
There are questions in this thread that don't apply to everyone. My compeer Cyberqat lives in Mass, which has a type of stataversial health care. So to them the argument for or against health care is moot, they don't really care because they have it and they don't want to pay any more than they already do for the other states to have it. The point that the US hasn't reached ultimate densesity makes even less sense considering no one in their right mind wants this country to reach that point. Who cares how dense the population of England is compared to the US? We are not England, they are not the US. Should they start dragging people out of England and when challenged say "well, the US has less density than we do so...."? The question is how many people CAN an area support. If there are high unemployment rates that is enough indication to me that the region is having problem with whatever the present density is and just because there is physical room doesn't mean they should be asked to absorb more people. Since Arizona is the topic of the day their unemployment is right around the average and they are not a very densily populated state, the Dakotas have low populations and very good employment rates, around 3.5%. Nevada, where I am, is has a low population yet a 14.5% unemployment rate and the reason is a bunch of people moved to Vegas over the years from other states increasing what our state could support...yet we have more space per person than I think any other state. For disclosure purposes I also moved to Nevada from another state but I'm not near Vegas and I already had property here. If we had an influx of people from Arizona running from laws (and yes you race baiters they would likely be hispanic) there is no way the region could aborb them without an adverse effect. Life is hard huh? |

We do allow immigrants into the country as you know as do our friends to the north, Greenland (bazinga!).
Hey, speaking of immigrants into the US, where were are seemingly a pack of racist thus indicating that only blue eyed blonds are let in the top three countries we get legal immigrants from are Mexico, India, and the Philippines. All known for their lilly white populations. |

Arpaio's policy is to vigorously enforce existing immigration law without being required to do so by the state. The recent ruling on 1070 left police officers free to enforce federal immigration law to the extent permitted by federal law. In addition, the judge blocked the provision that would have made legal permanent residents' failure to carry their alien registration cards a state crime (but it's still a federal crime). In short, the ruling didn't limit enforcement under pre-1070 standards; it just didn't permit most of the expansion that Arizona was looking for. So "business as usual" is entirely consistent with the ruling.

How have I been screwed over by 'the system'? I've been unfortunate in that my company moved out, which made sense from a business stand point, and it timed with the economy dumping but how is that make me a victim of the system?

For those who think that it's inherently racist for the USA to vigorously enforce immigration law, is it racist when Mexico does the same thing to their southern neighbors?

Mexico is terrible to their Southern Neighbors.
Do you know in Mexico that to immigrate you have to show you are financially able to support yourself, provide your own medical coverage, and that you can contribute to the greater good of the country? You also must learn Spanish. Non citizens are not allowed to protest. Civilians can turn people in they suspect are illegal, illegals are tossed out or can be imprisonedf or ten years. If they feel that a certain 'group' is going to challenge the ethnic Mexican population in numbers they can legally prohibit those other ethnic groups from moving to that area. Yeah, we are the evil ones. |

The USA also requires financial means; sponsoring family members must file an "Affidavit of Support" with their petitions for relatives.
But what I'm getting at is that if Latinos in Mexico take strong measures to regulate immigration by Latinos in Central America, apparently there are justifications other than race. So it's odd to me that when we take analogous strong measures, it's attributed to racism, and not to whatever those intra-race reasons that underlie Mexico's (e.g.) policies are.

It might not be racist.. But it does seem to be racial profiling, which is against the law in most cases, right lobo?
I'm not arguing, just want the legal side
