Eshla warning !
You must know you can't do this effect with Japanese, Arabisch or Chinese newspaper. The reasons is simple, you can't read these language , so can't reveal the word selected... So, stay away from this effect, you can't do it everywhere, it's not enough pure for you taste.

You give the person a clipping from a newspaper that contains several hundred words and he circles one. You do not give the person the entire newspaper. It is possible to have two people look at the clipping and both circle a word and you reveal the first word. Then have the 2nd person stand back to back to you. You give him a piece of cardboard and you have a piece of cardboard. He writes down the word he circled and you write a word when you both show the cardboard at the same time you have both written the same word. Makes for a nice double climax.

I love this routine. Cleverly deceptive. Excellent instructions, as always. Great work, Devin!
This is a tiny matter, but just a suggestion: I changed my shields to white. It's a subtle psychological matter, but it seems to me that color is less "suspicious" and maybe less noticeable. Maybe I'm crazy or paranoid or something, but black in props suggests (to me anyway) that something fishy might be going on. Could be I'm just thinking like a magician again . . . |
