I'm a huge fan of the late great Daryl but I do think that John Carey has altered the routine just enough so that it is both fooling and easy to do where as Daryl's original handling does require extremely good handling otherwise it is very obvious during the first phase what is happening. |

If you will imagine: Four coins picked up in each hand. Hands turned palm up. Hands crossed while still palm up. Close the hands while turning them palm down. At this point I tell the spectators that when I shake the coins, one will travel from my right hand to my left hand, when I shake again, it'll go back. As soon as they groan, I slap the coins on the table, pull my hands back, then pick up the coins and let them cascade from my hands in a one-two, one-two rhythm. I hope all of that is clear. |

I think most of us here are familiar with the trick from Ammars videos.
For those that haven't seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx9XHV7fojA I learnt to do it with 50 cent pieces. It's a lot easier than silver dollars. I only have done it for friends, and am ofter ask to "Do it again". I wonder if it's possible to do twice without the spectator catching on.? |

Thanks NicholasD I could see your presentation of the first coin working well in a proper performing environment especially if 8 coins are used rather than 6 but when you watch the video that Zauberman provided even Michael Ammar's handing of the first coin is poor but as I've said this isn't an effect that should be put on YouTube/social media for the unblinking eye of the camera isn't very forgiving especially if you don't dump the coins down in a stack which I think is really important for the first phase.
To answer your question Zauberman I definitely wouldn't repeat it however I would follow it up with a different version if asked to do it again. |
