Hi,
Last year, I bought some products from Jay Scott Berry direct from his site but can not recall the address. It is not the same has his performance or music site.

Thank you in advance.

It's a little hidden off his main site, but seek and ye shall find....

I am not endorsing this website, but it looks like most of his catalogue items can be found here.

Remember that silks are only measured by the hemmed edges. (Therefore, there are no 36" diamond cut silks. It would require 51" wide cloth which does not exists. The 24" diamond cut silk looks like a 36" square silk.)

However, if you are quoted prices based upon diagonal measurements, here are the diagonal measurements of diamond cut silks.

Measured diagonally

24" Diamond Cut Silk is about 51" tip to tip But looks like a 36" square

18" Diamond Cut Silk is about 38" tip to tip But looks like a 24" square

12" Diamond Cut Silk is about 26" tip to tip But looks like an 18" square

9" Diamond Cut Silk is about 18" tip to tip But looks like a 12" square

Silks are measured by their sewn hemmed edges, not diagonally. (All four sides should measure the same.)

Bob,
At one time I read you were selling TRUE diamond shaped silks. I have not felt the ones he sells really look all that full after being stuffed in a small space. I think they look good on his DVDs but suspect they are loaded just prior to filming.
I have found the JSB silks to be narrow. I think you called it, Kite shape.

However for his fountain and other effects, I would think narrower is better, especially if doing some routines in his eclipse tip.

Curious what you think?

One reason you want true diamonds (same on all four sides) is so that the points of the center corners are midway between the top and bottom corners and in line with other silks.

I don't recommend diamond cuts for silk fountains but I do know there are people who use them.

There certainly is such a thing as a diamond cut silk that is too narrow. In some cases a small streamer may look better. Remember that a streamer 4"x36" takes the same space as a 12" square silk.

Kite shaped silks have two sides one size and two smaller ones.

Sponge stars: hard to find (I find only red and yellow)
