D,
you can put your money on Riggs and Finley. For real. Hollar at either one of them on here... they members. Finley's handle is pretty well known round here... Riggs or Jonathan (Riggs's son) are 'round down below more than likely... search around...

My Q&A (and reading techniques in general) have been completely transformed recently and I'm taking a completely new approach. My thoughts on the subject and the second (2.0) update and add-on for "Guerrilla Q&A" will see the light in my new PC II manuscript shipping this month.
The Q&A material I've released up to this point is how I've done it for many years now - it's tried, tested and IT WORKS. As for a Q&A that satisfies drezmagic's personal needs and desires for such, it sounds like you're looking for one of the traditional "non sneaky" and direct approaches favored by many of the big guns in the past. One thing I recommend above all else is learning how to properly elicit, leverage and work in depth with an individual's personal criteria, their core beliefs and values (and more specifically their hopes, goals, dreams and ambitions). There are proven and incredibly effective ways to QUICKLY get to the bottom line and uncover what makes a person tick...their heart's desire and what makes them get out of bed in the morning...and everything that threatens such a thing and purpose. You'll want to begin looking into the (too) numerous NLP, influence, persuasion and heart to heart communication techniques, psychotherapy and core issue-based counseling techniques, sales (opening and closing strategies and applications for eliciting criteria) and the various methods for establishing and enhancing a baseline for rapport. Armed with this information (which can be discovered with the right techniques, approach and strategies in a VERY covert manner and fashion in less than a minute or so!) you'll be able to do exactly what you wish to do given your original post, and it's gonna be work - I won't lie...and it WILL be worth it in the end. While not necessarily using the traditional techniques of mentalism, such a Q&A approach is STILL going to be multi-layered and multi-faceted and though you'll do without all the slips or billets, envelopes, OA techniques, pre-show, assistants or on stage p**ks you'll still be using just as many DIFFERENT techniques to achieve the same effect and purpose, albeit in a (potentially) stronger, less complicated and more intense way. To end, I'll just add that such a performance isn't for the faint of heart (or the youngsters, sorry!) and is likely to require many years of in depth learning and experience before it hits the way you want it to (I know, I've been there and done that and there were STILL some issues!). If I can be of assistance please let me know. I think given your own criteria for such a Q&A there are simpler methods ready and at your disposal, we simply need the vision to see what's right before us. There ARE options and such a performance piece is very do-able. Hope this helps and best of luck! -JF

I have never understood why the world (well... other mentalists) didn't want exactly what 'I' wanted in a Q & A: To know everything they (the spec)wrote down so I could babble away with my social skills in order to look as though I was a psychic star.
Now THAT'S Q & A!!!!!! So....... who's got it? Stop fecking about and make yer claims... now!!!!!!! And don't. please don't, tell us about how you don't need them to write anything down because YOU know people and you can just make stuff up to make it special as if you've got special skills. You guys are always an embarrassment. If I'm wrong and you're right then let's not argue. Simply post a clip that shows you're as good as you think you are. I've never seen one... not one... ever. And guess what... neither has anyone else. That's because you've got delusions of grandeur and you need help. Sorry but I'm just off the phone talking to one of you (you know who you are) and it was all sh-te! Bob

No knock on Drez but folks need to know he’s rather on the young side. We’ve met, he’s very intelligent, very well read and passionate about mentalism. It’s his very passion that can lead to him to want to fly when he should still be learning to drive.
It reads to me like Drez is asking for Jerome’s style of Q & A. Nothing wrong with this but the skills that allow “going guerrilla” need to be learned first. For all I know, Drez has been devoting night and day to just this, but if not, I think he needs to take a step back and master the basics of Jerome’s approaches which really aren’t very basic at all. I’m not saying they are out of reach for him, just that he needs a reality check. Drez knows I like him so I’m not too concerned this is coming off harsh. He always seemed open to feedback when I met him a few times a couple of years back and I predict he still is. Jerome’s very thoughtful response states outright that his approaches aren’t for the faint of heart of for the “youngsters.” Jerome adds that his work, which I see as most closely approaching your requests, “require many years of in depth learning and experience before it hits the way you want it to.” What you have working totally for you is Jerome’s offer to help steer you in the direction of the kind of Q & A work that best fits your level of not only performance experience but LIFE experience which, if I read Jerome correctly, is the most important of the two. So run, don’t walk (or fly) to accept Jerome’s most generous offer. I think you are very fortunate indeed! |

Wow. Thanks to everyone for the responses.
Well, just to clarify, I want to build my own Q + A routine, one that probably wont match up to all the tight parameters I put out in my original post. I am aware that there are many deceptive routines using one aheads and peaks that are just as effective as those that may not use that. I originally put out the parameters for my post because I have been trying to learn as many methods for the Q+A as possible so I can put one together on my own. My goal at this point is to gather as many different methods for the Q+A as I can so I can find out what I truly like, hence the original request. But, just to clear things up, I am not against using assistants, one-aheads, pre-show, cold reading, or on-stage peaks in a Q+A act as it is the presentation that makes it effective not the method. Also, I have read Dynamite Mentalism and it is great along with many of the reading suggestions others have posted above. Thank you Bill for the kind words, since I am young (20) I know it is more difficult for me to perform mentalism. At this point I have been performing magic and more "mental magic" type effects since it is more appropriate for my age. That being said, I have a passion for reading and learning mentalism because I truly find it fascinating. I have read some of Jeromes work and it is among the best I have ever read. The thinking is really really fantastic in everything I have purchased from him. I am sure Guerilla Q + A is no different. -Drez |

Hey Drez. I too have been searching for that perfect Q&A and I believe I've found it. I think that a very important point is that different material be studied to find what works best for you. My Q&A set isn't mine at all but a conglomeration of everyone else's and it works for me.
Methodology is important but even more important is looking at it from the audience viewpoint. It probably won't matter what method you use if the audience only remembers that you 'read' their questions and gave personable answers without looking at anything. I've worked on several methods and finally found something and learning to 'read' well is as, if not more, important for myself. Don't buy Riggs stuff. It doesn't work...at all... Good luck |

JAlenS... to say that Rigg's stuff does not work... suggests...
Well, let's just say, it has been an industry standard for professionals for many years. Being unfamiliar with Jerome's Q&A...I would suggest that there seldom is just one perfect right way that will fit you.. I suggest getting both Jerome's and John Rigg's Q&A and compare the two. Christian

JAlenS,
Sorry I missed the Joke... But I think you have to put a smiley face on it it or something. I have told a few jokes in this space that have failed as well... Nothing like good face to face interaction..lol and you're right..we don't want everyone to know about that crappy Riggs stuff... Move along everyone, nothing to see here.

Yoy may want to look into Ted Lesley's, "Imformatico". Be prepared to reach DEEP into your wallet. It covers your requirements, if I read them correctely.

Where does one apply to work on a psychic phone line?
Is the pay reasonable, or is it mostly just for experience?
