Anyone know where I can find the soccer balls that gazzo uses (used) with his cups and balls? I bought a set off of magicpitch a while ago and was looking to get another set as I am used to the way they handle/feel.

Gazzo was still selling them not so long ago. If you do a search here you will probably find his post about it (unless it was in the sale and exchange section.)

Either way, if you google his name and email him from his site I am sore he will fix you up.

Foosballs are generaly made of a really tough plastic, similar to the phenolic that is used in billiard balls, but with a matte finish. However, I recently found the right footballs in packages at Party City.

About once a month I troll the party shops, toy stores, pet shops and dollar stores to see what wonderful new magic tricks have surfaced.

I do this too. Love places like Big Lots, Dollar General, & Ollies. Never know when you will find an item perfect for magic.

I love to do that too. I will say, however, that the "finds" that Bill has posted on the Cups and Balls Museum website that are from Walmart are classier than anything I've found in the Walmart stores in Missouri or Florida. I might have to go to Texas just to check out Bill's neighborhood Walmart!

Foosballs are much harder and talk much more than the footballs Gazzo sells.

There are some baseballs that are converted lamp pulls.

In the U.S., you can find lamp pulls with baseballs as the fob at Home Depot and other home stores. They're about 1.25" in diameter, which is too big for my hands, but if you're able to work with them they handle well and run about $2 each.

Okay. Pay attention now. This is NOT a rubber ball. It is a foosball. It is made of phenolic and is very hard. The Gazzo footballs are rubber and they don't talk.

No. A "foosball" is a hard ball that is used on a "foosball table" and would talk is used with the cups and balls. I've never found a source for Gazzo's balls but considered hacky-sacks or footbags (their interior is sand, metal, etc) but they were a little larger than I desired.

Here are the ones from Party City

These may be a little larger:

Oriental Trading

Although they don't mention the diameter of the ones from Party City, I'm pretty sure these are the ones I picked up locally a couple of weeks ago. You might want to e-mail them and ask what the diameter is.

I may order one of those bags of 24, or see if they have any in stock at our local outlets.

Hey thanks for your responses everyone. Bill the party city ones say they are boucey balls. They look similar to the ones I have but the ones I have don't bounce at all. If you drop them they pretty much land dead.

The ones I actually got from Party City are not very resilient. They don't bounce much, but they aren't completely dead, either.

I would like to add resale shops as a source of stuff to use in Magic, as well as an office chair like the one I am sitting in right now.
