As I travel further afield for my gigs I've found myself without something I need in a pinch once in awhile. So, I've started a list to start a "gig survival kit."

Double side tape.
Adhesive Velcro pads. DoubleMint Chewing Gum. (along with the mouthwash). Extra batteries for devices that use them. Copy of CD or tape used in show. Various sizes of ZipLock Bags. Compete second set of performance clothes. Flashlight. |

I've seen a performer who had is music *properly* prepared:
On a CD, with an extra CD; a flash drive with the MP3 files; an ipod with four different types of audio cable to hook into virtually any system, plus a dock for the ipod that could play music if all else failed. |

I cary a bottle of water for each show, a towell, spare batteries for my wireless mic, plus a fresh shirt, and tie for each show.

We always used to carry a small wire gadget
that you could clip over the top of a door and then hang clothes etc from it. "The dressing room was fit for a gentleman. It even said so on the door." |
